It's so transparent - the Lib Dims get to make an appeal to one of the 'marginalised' groups they've cynically tageted over the last decade-and-a-half and relied upon as their core voters, thus possibly ensuring their suvival as anything more than a fringe party nce the coalition either collapses or its tenure expires.

At the same time Cameron gets a chance to woo back some of the backbenhers he's alienated through committing acts of Tory sacrilege by publicy denouncing Thatcherite soial policy and the traditional image of his party. Win-win.

Win for drug users? Highly doubtful.
 
people in power will never give us free selection of drugs, I mean I love heroin the most out of all illegal drugs, nobody in power will make heroin legal.

the best we could hope for is decriminalized weed, no where near "legal" the most far out policy would see heavy regulation placed on weed.

total bash idea in my view, things will never change, I said this now about 5 times there is way too much cash made in the illegal trade of drugs, thats a fact & the people at the top who run the show will never let it change.

keepiing drugs illegal serves too many peoples agendas & makes many people stinking rich.
 
i set it as a question today. i really think we should all just get off our druggy arses for a big meet down at the houses of parliament, what masks should we wear? i suggest morph for morphine. who would you like to go as, actually can i go as boris johnson, and lobby his mp in a boris style? get the diaries out, we meet in london and lobby our mps

I know about the legal heroin scripts in the UK in the late 1960's & I agree there was tax to be made but the mark up of a kg of heroin in Pakistan compared to a kg of heroin in the uk must be well over 300% there is way to much power, control & filthy profit to be made in illegal trade.

fuckin hate mps that hold office. They will keep shtum about drugs cos they dont want the backlash they will get from the daily mail brainwashed knobs, then when they are out of office and have feathered their own nests thats when they will spout up about the drug laws and how wrong they are. A prime example is the fucking idiot who was on the gear and working for thatcher Dr Clive Froggatt. HYPOCRITS
