"Free" water at festivals

So I had 2 very good, tested high MDMA pills. I dropped half, then half again an hour later, just as the first half kicked in. For approx 1 hour, I was feeling incredibly munted off this. Went to get some water, then went back to dance, repeated (I think) 3 times.

About an hour after I got my water, I felt like a switch had been turned off. I definitely was not yet sober and probably not coherent, but I definitely felt like I was after the last couple hours. Bear in mind too that this was my first high/confirmed amount MDMA experience (I have very, very few and sketchy memories of the time I was completely gone).

A friend later told me the police confirmed with him that they spike the "free water" with SOMETHING. They told him that it makes a crowd easier to manage, and avoids fights. Personally I would say if that's the case, close the bar and let everyone at MDMA...anyway beside the point.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this, and if so, does anyone know what exactly they put in the water? I hate mixing any substances in the best of circumstances, and this situation just makes me incredibly frustrated.

Also if it helps, it appears their substance only blocks the pleasurable effects of MDMA. I retained the huge pupils, rolled eyes, clenched jaw and lack of appetite/ability to sleep. I also noticed it cancelled the positive effect MDMA has on my Tourettes, and due to the combination of Tourettes twitches and freaky eyes, security nearly called an ambulance for me, for absolutely nothing!

Hmmm, have never heard anything like that but I'm not in that scene anymore ( assuming you are talking about raves).
It would be very scary if it was true and highly illegal.

There is no way this could be true. If just one person had a severe reaction to the adulterant and went to the hospital, the media would go nuts. Too much to go wrong.

Think it's time to have a couple of beers, something to eat and have a bit of a lie down mate.

It seems like you just were very aware of the point after the "peak" of your e....being one of your first experiences, as you said, your memory may be a little sketchy on the time frames and exactly how you did feel in those time frames.

Also, things like crowds, temperature, mood and many other factors can affect your perception and exactly how "high" you feel, even if the drugs are of excellent quality.

Your friend sounds like he's been hitting the gear a bit hard. Sounds like typical tweaker bullshit he's talking....ask him about Fluoride, the Freemasons, 9/11 etc! Hehe. You may be there for a while.

The cops may be a law unto themselves to some point, but there's no way they'd ever get away with anything like this. That's some Orwellian shit!

Well, a slight veer off topic, but earlier this year the HugsNotDrugs crew was giving out free bottled water at a major festival. Their main motto was "Ecstasy: you never know what's in it". One of their workers explained that most of their bottled water was just water, but some bottles had bitter lime added, but all bottles were labeled the same. These people offered out water to patrons, and every now and then someone would get a lime flavoured one and usually react at the unexpected taste with a "yuk, what's that?" type of response. The HND person would then say something like "see, you never know what's in it...." :\

I'll leave you all to ponder how that is supposed to instill a sense of trust!

As for the notion that cops or staff put things in tap/ bottled water in clubs to make punters "easier to manage", forget it. My first thought is that because it was the OP's first MDMA experience, he/she probably wasn't aware that it's common for the effect - at least the most euphoric part of it - to wear off rather quickly.

I hate those preachy HugsNotDrugs and RaveSafe people. I have a friend who always shit stirs them, winds them up about how he took this coloured panadol someone offered him and now he feels weird, that kinda shit. I think that takes it too far, they're trying to help people, but to me they come across in the same way as anti smoking protestors and that breed of annoying.

OK, thanks guys. I must admit I hadn't truly come down when I posted that. Things seem much more believable in that state...I think I need to stay off the forum if I'm on anything from now on. Now I have a permanent reminder of how foolish I am!

Come to think of it, I recall watching the patterns on the roof while typing. Time for a good long break I think.

(Don't worry, I space my rolls, I just had a fair bit more than I'm used to last night)

There are black panthers in and around the outer suburbs of Sydney too.

Pretty sure I saw one of those as a kid, and that was before I even knew more than "Drugs are bad!"...
