Food Thread - I cook, I eat, I .....

So steak didn't happen :( it was still frozen.

So I tired to boil eggs and have with dippers... epic fail :(

They ended up as hard boiled eggs... gross.

Haha, you actually fucked up hard boiled eggs? That's gold :D

^^^

shut up! :(

:D

I'm usually pretty good in the kitchen, last night was a one off lol

I just made an awesome lasange! It weighed about 2kgs and it smells soooo good!

We had a green thai curry tonight, was really really nice, but it packed a punch... my mouth is still burning from it.

Its going to taste even better tomorrow :D

^ Did you make it from scratch or use a premade paste. I fail everytime I try and make it from scratch.

On a brighter note I made some vindaloo the other day that was fucken awesome. AndI'ddoitagain!

Mmm lasagna is something i need to learn to master! One of my favorite foods. I have only given it a crack once, and i used the already pre-made lasagna sauces and stuff... was nice, but from scratch is so much better and i reckon i can pull it off.

Tonight i cooked porter house steak with steamed veggies and curly fries! Mmmmm!!!! I love food. It felt like we were at Hogs Breath Cafe' =D

You can buy lasagna sheets fresh, I used to use them a lot. Then basically it's just a matter of making a white sauce in one pan and a tomato sauce in another. Then just add mince or veggies into the tomato sauce, you can even use jarred sauces. Easy peasy!

I can't wait to cook my fish tomorrow. I'm going to ring my boss tomorrow for ideas about the best way to cook it, he is a mad keen fisho.

Yep made the vindaloo paste.

It was a little bit involved but I had the day off work and needed to fill in time.
You have to grind the spices then cook some onion with them then blend it all up together. There was some vineagar involved also. I cooked the meat for a few hours and it was tender as.

Pataks are awesome though. I like the korma paste they make.

I have this years masterchef cookbook in .pdf, I was going to attach to this post but file size is too large at 1.68MB

Isn't vindaloo kinda tomato based? Or did I imagine that? Never made a vindaloo from scratch.

The paste isn't, but you cook it with tomatoes.

I think Vindaloo is one of the least bastardized versions of South Indian cuisine. A little fresh yoghurt is good with it. They don't eat beef there so it would probably be goat I guess.

Least bastardised is good, love authentic food. And I really love how brutally hot vindaloo is/should be. It'll totally make a man out of you if it's done well :D

Just about to make up another giant batch of Spicy Tomato Relish...

If any of you are close enough to me (if I actually like you, then you'll already know where I live) let me know and you may get some

Sound Bath

Late dinner after hosting a meditation with
my friend in a tea house.

She plays these quartz crystal bowls that are
a byproduct of making superconductors.

You rub round the rim with a mallet and they
produce one of the purest tones known to man.

The sound washes over you as you meditate,
seeking to get your body to entrain with the
given frequency.

It's very groovy.

The peeps love it.

I'm having deep-fried spicy Thai lemongrass chicken
and a Moroccan mint tea.

Doing an "Apple Crumble Pie" tonight.... Just like apple crumble, but with pastry as a base/side so you can make small single serves and carry them as you eat :D

Tonight i cooked chilli con carne and gorged myself with 2 serves! lol

Once i recover i shall attempt to bake my first cheesecake! Wish me luck!

But for now, i need couch time.

I had marinated mackerel, grilled eggplant and salad. Oh baby! :D
