Food Thread - I cook, I eat, I .....

^That makes for a fantastic meal :) Damn you cant go wrong with seafood !!
 
^^ I went to my fav fish market today to see if they had any Squid! I love it! I made some fish stock last week from some flathead frames that I caught, can't wait to try my squid dish with it :)
 
I made this awesome curry last weekend. It was a spinach and lamb curry. It was so amazing. It's from this book "Madhur Jaffrey's Ultimate Curry Bible". Highly recomend it to people who love curry.

Took me about 3hrs to make, not all of the time was in the kitchen, but it was so delicous. I also broke in my xmas pressent from my mum that night, it had been in Cairns which isn't bribsane, so it finally made it's way down here. http://www.scanpan.dk/Produkter/SteelCookware/Impact/Tagine

We went out for birthday dinner last night, I had some of the best thai food I've eaten. The flavours were awesome.

And then my fave, black forest cake! :D
 
Black forrest cake is like mud cake with rasberry layers sort of, or at least that is what the one I ate last night had :/
 
I grilled us some salmon the other night and had it with steamed veges. So good. :)

Tonight i'm fending for myself as Pop is currently flying back from an interstate work trip. We have an OFI tonight so i'm making myself scarce and might head to the local thai restaurant for some pad thai.
 
My besty who is currently living in Austria sent me this authentic Austrian recipe.

It is called curry geschnitzeltes.

You need:

Breast fillet chicken diced
Rice (Jasmin) 1 cup
Curry powder (a lot about 3 normal spoons)
Soy sauce (maybe 30ml)
Pinneapple diced from tin
Banana diced
Cream 1x150ml
onion 1
Chicken stock tea spoon

Herbs:
Corriander seeds x 15 crush as you put them in
Clove x 5
Salt pepper

Boil rice.
Fry the chicken in butter wih a little salt and pepper until almost done. Remove from frying pan.
Put onions in frying pan, fry for 2 mins. Reduce heat add cream, chicken stock, salt and pepper, curry powder, corriander, clove and soy sauce. Allow to lightly simmer for 5 mins. Add pineapple and some juice from tin, banana and chicken. Cook until chicken is ready.

Pour chicken and sauce over rice and enjoy.

It is easy to make, just have to play the soy sauce and currry mostly to get to your taste. Remember soy sauce is very salty so not to much extra salt.



I made iton the weekend with a green curry and its awesome and very very simple
 
I made really yummy satay chicken dish, with extra chilli and peanut butter!

Really really quick and easy and so yum!:D
 
Sounds nice Maz, doesn't sound very Austrian though! :D

I am really keen to start doing some cooking outside soon. I'm yet to have a fire this wintery season, but definitely doing some planning!
 
It seems more Hawaiian aye.........lol.

He is living with his Austrian gf and I understand she taughgt him. The word geschnittles seems to be meaning a sauce and nothing more specific.
