(CBS/WPEC/AP) PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Florida teen Tyler Hadley was high on ecstasy when he bludgeoned his parents to death with a hammer, then threw a house party via Facebook invites while their bodies remained in a locked bedroom, according to police reports.

Police said 17-year-old Hadley described the attacks to an unidentified friend at the party he threw in his Port St. Lucie home last Saturday night after the killings. By the friend's account, Tyler had taken three "e" tablets at the time of the murder and the hours that followed, according to documents obtained by NBC station WPTV.

No shit. Typical mainstream media garbage, I highly doubt he was on MDMA when he killed his parents the afternoon before. Especially if he had taken 3 MDMA tablets, he wouldn't have been so wide eyed the next morning when he was arrested. Fucking BS they should say he took some unknown pills, like it was...

...given a "normal" mind. To a psychopath, who knows. I really doubt it was MDMA or that he was on it when he did it though, because he was clearly still high when they arrested him, and his parents were cleaned up in three hours before the 9 pm party. At the earliest they were killed at 6 PM. It would be impossible to roll for >10.5 hours and still look like he's peaking when he was arrested. Either he wasn't high on anything when he killed his parents, it wasn't MDMA, or both...
 
Meth maybe? I just don't see MDMA causing a violent reaction in someone. Then again, if he had mental issues, there is no telling what could of caused it. I would definitely not point the finger at the drug and forget about it though, there is clearly more to this than just that.
 
Its obviously just some excuse the defense attorney is going to use. He may have well been high on ecstasy while he was bashing his parents skulls in, thats not to say that he diddnt already have underlying mental issues.

For all we know he was high for full 2 days and was doing WAY more than just 3 pills....

Ecstasy is just the name of the mixtures of chemicals in the pill. Soo to all you MDMA lovers really shouldnt get soo offended......

I think he had mental issues regardless of what state of mind he was in... High on MDMA, meth, pipes, whatever was in his "ecstasy"

It's the way the article is written gives MDMA a bad name... "Ecstasy" is generally supposed to be MDMA. It is common public knowledge. They should explain that the exact drugs the "ecstasy" pills contained is not yet fully known. But they make it seem like "look what the "E" does to the kids!". Blatant ignorance.
 
to me this seems like more the fault of the mental heath system then ecstacy. Somehow I doubt he just up and decided to kill his parents im sure there was a long series of events and signals leading up to the tragedy.

to be fair, i know people who down ecstasy like candy. it has to be mostly meth, but even molly is abused around here by some people (daily)
 
i have heard that when on mdma you dont want to fight but if you feel the need to you are unstoppable
this could mostly be due to alcohol and probably the pills being adulterated with speed
