^oh great. james holden or reversible records party??? ah.. the one thing i hate about wmc... that i can't be everywhere at the same time. urgh!
and hawtin on thursday!!! my husband will be happy!

and yes craN on the lawler thing- first few hours were good but nothing great, nothing compared to the two times i'd seen him before last year (once in Leeds -UK at Rehab - best set ever by anyone i.m.o, and in chicago) His set picked up a bit later though, and I think the fact that State was completely packed with a bunch of drunk annoying people may have had a little something to do with it too. A little over two hours into his set the drunks were falling out and left and Steve picked it up a notch. I have to say though, I rather skip Lights Out this year... way too many other great events!!
I would recommend to others to see lawler on a different occasion ...and that's coming from someone who really likes him!

I just got the single Ultra ticket.

I haven't seen any of the Carry On lineup and there will be plenty of other things to do afterward.
Lee Burridge will be playing at B.E.D.
Armand Van Helden, Mark Farina, & DJ Sneak will be playing at The Shelbourne.

OMG, OMG I'm getting excited. Even as excited as last year. Hell fuck-it I get crazy excited for the WMC & Ultra every year. Nicole sweetie, I'm so sad you won't be able to go. I will definitely miss you down there and be sad not to be in your company. Ooh last year was just fabulous the time we all down there. To everyone thats going if there is a meetup let me know. Be safe and definitely party well, I will be there. The natural high just thinking of this event coming up soon is unbelievable. Now for the lineup.....................OMFG cream my pants for all the different music areas all day & all night long. Especially for the main stage too . I have too many favorites djs on this lineup to not be running around trying to rockout & catch the many sets. But hey thats also part of the adventure & fun of Ultra. Plus I'm sure I'd get to see these djs perform at the smaller parties before and/or after the actual Ultra event.

So yeah hotel had already been booked............like last year Nov. seriously...SHIET I'm not playing this year in being in the hot spot of this partying wknd.
Only thing left is buying everyone's tickets together at one time and then figuring the most affordable way to get down there. But hey it all WILL happen. Damn-it, I will not miss this event for anything. I need it, my spirit needs it, my overall being needs it!! HOLLA, hahah, can you tell I have a passionate love for EDM!!

Also could someone/anyone please give me all the info. as to all the different club parties & free parties that will be happening thruout the wknd. I want to start emailing to get g-listed or discounted cover charges. thanks much!!

I just thought i'd chime in about the Carry-on Party.

I went to this after Ultra 7 last year when Sasha and Digweed was spinning it. Let me tell you that is one experence I will NOT repeat. It's hard for me to even describe how much that venue sucked. But i'll try.

I bought the VIP tickets last year so the Ticket for the carry-on was supposed to be included. It wasn't. They didn't tell you that you didn't get the ticket to the carry-on when you got the ticket to Ultra. All you got was a valcher for the carry-on ticket. You had to pick-up that ticket after Ultra ended and before you could get in line for the venue. In other words you had to wait in line to get your ticket and then wait in another line to get into the venue.

When I got in the line to get my ticket I realized that they only opened 2 ticket windows to exchanged valchers.

2 LINES FOR APPROXIMATELY 10-15 THOUSAND PEOPLE ALL LEAVING ULTRA AT ONCE FOR THE CARRY-ON.

I have never and I mean NEVER in my life been in a solid mass of people like that. It was simply impossible to move one way or the other. You had to just move with how the mass of people moved.

It took me about an 1 1/2 hours to finally get my ticket. I then had to wait in the line to get into the Carry-on party. I was in that line for about 45 minutes. Then I had to wait in a third line to get onto the venue floor, prolly about 30 more minutes.

After I got onto the floor I looked around and was shocked. there was nothing to it. Just a small stage set up in the middle of the basketball court. Thats it. And to top it all off. If you wanted to get something to eat or drink you had to leave the floor to get it. Which means you had to wait in that 30 minute line again to get back in again.

The set-up completly ruined the experience for me. which sucks cause I had never seen Sasha and Digweed before. I've seen them separately but not together and I was really looking foward to it. But by the time I got in and settled I was pretty much ready to go.

So as much as it would really like to see The Orb (mainly cause its one of the few I have never seen) and normally I tell people that if you get a chance to see Rabbit-In-The-Moon you should definately do it 'cause they are a unique experince I just don't think going thru all that is worth it. Especially since South Beach is only a few minute cab ride away and will have plenty of parties going off.

I also dont think the VIP ticket is worth it either, but that is another story.

Save your money, head to South Beach when Ultra ends.
