films: Scariest/most suspenseful movie moments

The scene in session nine, when the guy is listening to the session tapes of the Psychiatrist and the girl...and her voice changes from a crying woman to a little girl and to a little boy.
*shudder*

My god i just literally got goosebumps when I read this post! Hahahaha! Session Nine has a lot of moments like that...8o

Blair Witch project: those final 4 or 5 minutes, when they are in the house, and theres handprints on the walls, and all the deep breathing. It terrifies me everytime.

Good choice. BWP was one of my favorite scary movies of all time. I absolutely love it, not only the scary parts, but I love the way it was filmed, the natural way the characters interacted with each other, etc. It's one I can watch over and over.

The creepiest part for me is before they get to the house, the night before Josh disappears when they are all in the tent and the sounds are waking them up, Holy Hell, I've been through some shit and I'm pretty brave but I felt for them in that situation. Especially when they just freak out and take off running into the woods and you can't see whats going on at all. That whole scene is like something right out of a nightmare.

It's so funny how opinions differ though, my best friend (One of our primary shared interests and favorite thing to do together is watching horror films too) HATES the BWP and will never watch it. lol It's not for everyone but for me it definitely pushes all the right buttons.

I have more..

The scene in The Exorcist (it might only be on the directors cut) where she is crab walking down the stairs all fuckered up looking.

Also the scene where she is kneeling on the bed with the light behind her, reaching up, and that evil demon statue thing appears behind her, fuck that makes my blood turn cold every time!

Such a badass film. Probably one of my favorite movies EVER, out of any genre.

i think the first alien deserves a nomination for "most suspenseful although you don't really see anything"

I know the chants of "you didnt get it till then shit" will come up.

But Sixth Sense when Willis is with the wife and she makes the "because you are not her and drops the wedding ring, thats when I got it and my jaw dropped.

Same thing with Fight Club when Pitt tells Norton, "cuz I am you" and they start piecing in how they never interacted during the movie.

For the Lost Highway fans: check out the paragraph from this interview where I've highlighted (possible murderer) Robert Blake saying "I'd go out to the desert and get involved in some strange, isolated kind of thing."

Then watch Blake's best scene. Taken together, a whole new disturbing dimension of the "Mystery Man" is revealed.

I find every teen comedy suspensful. I'm like "There's NO WAY the kid is going to get the hot girl at the end of this movie! I mean her boyfriend is THE MOST POPULAR KID IN SCHOOL! I mean, sure, he's a jerk and all but the main character is a nerd! No way!"

And then I'm always surprised at the end.
