yes! he's fantabulous! the entire act of stewart recreating kim novak from a down to earth brunette into a cool blonde is mirrored in hitch's infatuation with cool blondes (eva marie saint, tippy hedron, etc)... just like stewart recreates judy barton from a "simple kansas girl" into the cool blonde who he was infatuated with, hitch recreated kim novak - and apparently, she wasn't all too happy with having to be dressed and changed by hitch into the cool blonde - just like her character judy - but went along with it anyway...

vertigo also has one of the best bernard hermann scores.... and the great dream sequence...
 
call me a sell out, but The Grudge was very suspenseful...... but i hear the original " JU ON" was much worse.... in a good way
 
Mulholland Drive where they say the freaky homeless guy the first time, had it on headphones blaring and then he popped and I almost shat my pants :o Scary but one of my favorite movies.
 
that scene in The Shining when the little kid is on the tricycle, and he goes around the corner and he sees the two girls standing there.
 
^^Just finished watching the Shining and Im scarred.

Up there with the Ring (US). Jap version doesnt do it for me 'cause of the subtitles.
 
my all time suspense has to be

Silence of the Lambs

and horror

Cujo (1983)

might be lame now but as a little kid this was the first really scary movie... mind you in the same weekend of watching this I watched Porkys.... mmm explains alot about me now!

but as a combination I would have to say

OMG I JUST HAVE TO SHARE
i was able to purchase the EVIL DEAD DVD in HMV here in Hongkong WOOOOT!!!! EVILdEAD ONE THAT IS!!!! With rare never before seen footage, commentary from director Sam Raimi, the producer AND brucecampbell...and in full THX glory and remastered sound! Ialmost wet myself when i saw it on the Shelves (lol!!) Anyway thats all =D Damn i have been looking for a copy of this for like YEARS..the last time i saw it it was on BETAMAX! that is all kthksbye!

Eraserhead is just an uncomfortable time for anyone watchin but ther is one scare at the end when the Woman next door looks at henry and he has the head of the twisted baby and the steam is screeching and everything gets much too twisted after that.

I'd have to say most of The Ring (US) and the end of

Requiem For A Dream, where everything goes pearshaped that music draws you into the movie heavily, it's a truly disturbing masterpiece.
 
This scene from Mulholland Drive. Almost had a shared heart attack with the guy in question. I guess it's not that bad compared to some of the stuff out there, but this really picked at something within my soul. :|

Also, Bette Davis in Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte. I know it's camp, but I think her portrayal is pretty damn terrifying. As is her performance in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?. Another good one is this scene from the Night Of The Living Dead remake. I don't often like remakes, but this one is great. :D

Tina's death in the first Nightmare On Elm Street has always scared the crap out of me. It still gives me the creeps even to this day. I guess I can blame my brother for forcing me to watch it when I was a kid.

I don't think anything has ever been quite as suspenseful as this scene in Suspiria. And I'm quite fond of this scene from Profondo Rosso too.

Repulsion got me pretty good too. :|
