Romance
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_(1999_film)

There are some bits that are funny/bizarre, other scenes just strange.

Briellat's Fat Girl may be equally disturbing. I've only heard about it.

Hopper in Blue Velvet I agree with. Just madness for a character.

the anime Perfect Blue was a strange one

The Rules 0f Attraction---

I think it definitely qualifies as disturbing(and im also adding it to my personal list of "movies you should not watch under the influence", thanks mainly to the opening sequence and the damn near unbearable (successful) suicide scene.
yeah, the suicide scene in Rules of Attraction makes me squirm big time. it's on YouTube for anyone interested in punishing themselves. kinda graphic stuff...so i won't link it.

house of 1,000 corpses
texas chainsaw massacre
the hills have eyes
american history x
acid house

wow there are alot of movies in this thread that i now have to rent

takashi miike's imprint for showtimes masters of horror, of course it was banned by showtime, but u can find it on dvd, it is sucha fuckin trip!, the only negative and man is it a big fuckin negative is billy drago, he had the look for the part, but his acting was horrible, i think the language barrier between takashi miike and drago allowed that horrible actin which you see. o well definetly check it out, its got it all, torture, incest, abortion, n' then some!

Happiness, the most disturbing film I've seen. The likes of Cannibal Holocaust, I Spit on Your Grave, etc. slasher films in general doesn't even compare to the depravity of average suburbanites.

Oldboy is brilliant... and very wrong! ;)

Also surprised no-one has mentioned Urotsukidoji yet... it is anime though.
