if they were, i hope they don't vibrate like the original underpants painted onto a toddler gokou in the original english version of dragon ball did. it think they did it frame by frame on mspaint.

Those were put on there for that still. I don't believe he's wearing them in the movie. I've seen pics of him wearing nothing down there. Maybe he put some drawers on for the photo op.

See? No undies.

thank heavens

Though specific details haven't been released, the dispute between Warner Bros. Pictures and 20th Century Fox over "Watchmen" has been resolved according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Both studios are scheduled to present a settlement to Judge Gary Feess this morning and request that the case be dismissed.

Fox will not be a co-distributor on the $130 million film, nor will it co-own the "Watchmen" property. It will share in revenue derived from it, a deal expected to involve a sizable cash payment and a percentage of the film's boxoffice grosses.

Warners is said to be after producer Larry Gordon and his attorneys to reimburse the studio for costs of the settlement.

Here's an official joint statement from both parties that has just been released:

"Warner Bros. and Twentieth Century Fox have resolved their dispute regarding the rights to the upcoming motion picture Watchmen in a confidential settlement. Warner Bros acknowledges that Fox acted in good faith in bringing its claims, which were asserted prior to the start of principal photography. Fox acknowledges that Warner Bros. acted in good faith in defending against those claims Warner Bros. and Fox, like all Watchmen fans, look forward with great anticipation to this film's March 6 release in theatres."

Holy crap! It's actually coming out! I may wet myself on opening night. Either way, you're damn right I'll be there front and center wearing my Watchmen t-shirt, squealing like the total geek fanboy I am.

I'm such a loser. :)

i've even seen tv ads confirming the release date at the start of march. right next to my bday :D:D:D

but i think those underpants are in the movie. he won't have them at first but will later on methinks.

Finally, one last tidbit: During the Q&A, someone asked David Gibbons, how explicit will the Dr. Manhattan nudity be? "Total," responded Gibbons.]

haha :D

the description of the opening scene that somebody has written (if it's even legit) sounds far too slo motion fighty for my liking! still looking forward to this massively, think i'll read watchmen again today.

i'm saving my re-read til later. best watch films as freshly as possible. you're setting yourself up for disappointment otherwise.

I am prepared to be dissapointed, nonetheless.

Watchmen is fucking gold to me. I hope to be proved wrong. I will see it March 7th, as I am playing a show on the 6th.

movies come out at different times. advanced copies sometimes leak. it's impossible to keep track of the exact first release of each title, so we put the poll up early.

regardless, movie results polls are always skewed, regardless, these two votes are now removed.

Not the best source but i've read on wikipedia that they've altered the ending? That would blow I can understand cutting out stuff like the black freighter and Dr manhattans dong but don't freaking change the story to make it more hollywood. I trully hope they go the route of disecting superhero/action movies like the comicbook did to the superhero genre...

Here's the trailer for Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter. It's an animated short that will be released next month.

* "Tales of the Black Freighter": A animated short-film based on the comic-within-the-comic of Watchmen, in a drawing style close to that of original graphic artist Dave Gibbons. Rated R for violent and grisly images. Running time: 26 minutes

* "Under the Hood": A mockumentary short film based on the excerpts of the same name book withing the Watchmen mythology, supposedly written by Hollis Mason, aka Nite Owl I, exposing the background of many characters as well as a brief introduction to the alternate reality everything takes place. Rated PG for mild thematic elements, brief violent and suggestive images and smoking. Running time of 38 minutes.

As a extra features, both versions will contain:

* Story Within A Story: The Books of Watchmen: A short documentary on how Watchmen defined the metafiction in comic books, as well as its innovative narrative structure.

* A First Look at Green Lantern: Nothing to do to with Watchmen.

Also, exclusively in the Blu-ray version:

* "The Two Bernies": A scene from Watchmen not seen in theaters, featuring the news vendor and the kid reading the comic book beside his namesake.

* "The Why of Watchmen: Director Zack Snyder explains the reasons Watchmen is still so relevant in fiction and in the world today.

heh i know that post is a joke in part at least but did they really take the vendor out? i've seen a screenshot with him in somewhere i'm sure!

...and lead us not into temptation....

i got my tradepaperback returned today too. it's right here beside me at work.

...and lead us not..........

The trailer looks good, though it doesn't give anything about the story, just action shots. Still, better than I would have thought.
