it looks like most of the footage was shot just for the trailer. it's pretty amazing that the script for this film was just finished a couple of months ago and principal photography is happening now for a summer release. i thought minority report was great, so i'm looking forward to this -- i just hope spielberg can finish all of the special effects and post production in time without skimping on the quality.
I dunno. While remakes are ok, can't Hollywood make more original movies? It's not like there is some shortage of material to work with.
Remakes have always bothered me. I'm sure it'll be at least ok, but why fix what isn't broken? Give someone else a chance to try and make a movie people will be remaking poorly in 30 years.
Example? The Manchurian Candidate. It could have been a stand alone movie w/ out borrowing from an older movie. I mean, in concept it was similar but it wasn't a remake. It used an older movies title to sell a new movie. It wasn't as good as the original anywho.
i think this looks okay. i figure spielberg's main negative points are the fact that he loves boring, happy-ending, cliches, and seems to like melodramatic, hammy acting, so if i can get over that before i see the film, then this could be good.
no doubt the effects will be great, and if he can keep the script compelling enough, this could be a good ride.
It's available online, unfortunately I don't remember where I listened to it. IIRC it was a streaming audio type thing that had clips from hundreds of old radio shows and plays. I'll post back if I find it again.

This was my biggest problem with Minority Report. They could have lopped off the last fifteen minutes of the movie and it would have been ten times better (I imagine ending the film on the balcony scene would have been perfect).
