Is it wrong that I was incredibly turned on by this movie?
You weren't the only one.
I saw this movie with a guy who has some serious dom tendencies a few weeks ago. He resembles James Spader's character in many ways, though he's not an attorney and looks nothing like him.
I'm also a legal assistant (who has temporarily foresaken her field for another in an effort to make more bucks but is going back ASAP but you get the idea)...
and as much of a feminist as I am, and as confident in myself and my own abilities-- I still wanted James Spader to put that lovely collar apparatus on me and make me be the capable secretary on his terms.
I want to be teased like that, and intellectually I know better... I suppose that's why this movie got me so turned on.
I was kind of shocked by the way the movie turned out and strangely touched.
Funny enough, the guy I was watching it with is, in addition to being quite the dom, also somewhat of a film snob and "thought it lacked in character development because you just couldn't care about James Spader's character, he was too much of an asshole."
Go figure.
I recommended this film to a lot of friends... hope they like it!
Maggie Gyllenhall is really hot and normally cutting totally puts me off but for some reason it didn't disturb be as much as usual.
And yes, in the US it is now on video.
