Batman Returns did indeed have the caped crusader sporting all black air jordan VI's (my favourite shoe ever), i give it that much.

Axl, The joker will play the awesome villain in this, which will be a great origin tale for Two Face. In other words, both villains are going to appear.

Batman Returns COULD have been great could but far too often it became unintentionally campy. I dunno, i just feel it lost the darkness that Burton was able to capture in the first one.

And i don't get why everyone's on Heath's jock. I don't particularly love him but from what i can see so far in the trailers, makeup, and various soundbytes it seems (though it may be premature to guess) he's going to do a decent job.

I dunno, it just kinda reminds me of everyone bitching about Will Smith for I AM Legend. The guy's done some shitty roles, he's become cliche in his action movie comic relief persona, but he was able to pull off The Pursuit of Happyness and The Legend of Bagger Vance pretty decently.

thanks for the clarification. I think this is a wonderful idea.

DD - oh, I did not mean "screw Heath Ledger" as in he sucks, I meant it in a "this other actor is interesting me more." my thoughts on Heath Ledger aren't much, I haven't seen an abundance of his films - but he looks pretty good in all that Joker garb. I will save my god-like fury of comic-book to movie judgements when I see him in action.

no Harley Quinn? :( that would have been hot.

to me it seems just like yesterday this no name aussie kid fronted nicely in a small aussie crime flick called "two hands". then practically overnight he was cast as some rebellious kid in some hollywood teenage clap trap flick i never saw and suddenly he's working with the likes of ang lee, terry gilliam and chis nolan.

his career progression has been quite amazing imo.

"10 things I hate about you". Yuh, like you didn't know! :p ;) Admit it, you saw it. You loved it. You even bought the DVD. You still rake it out when the girls come round. :D

i think heath ledger will probably be pretty good. especially after seeing the trailer and the promo pics.

..excited about this one...I <3 Christopher Nolan and all of his creations..

Losing Heath is a terrible thing, but my god, who is NOT going to see this movie now? It's going to earn millions. I hope it lives up to his memory.

It's nice to finally see those awesome CHUD boys going positive lately about upcoming "Batman Begins" sequel "The Dark Knight" today, and in the process they've revealed a fascinating scoop (kudos guys, Devin you know I always admire your giant kahunas - literally).

The article talks about how Director Chris Nolan shot the 'Two-Face' scenes for the upcoming sequel and it's quite surprising - "Basically, Nolan shot complementary takes of Eckhart in Two-Face makeup so he could visually represent the duality of Dent in a less cartoony fashion.

What Nolan's doing doesn't sound all that far removed from the Gollum/Smeagol model, though the obvious difference here is that Dent isn't motion-capture; he's a fifty-fifty split of the same actor giving two wildly divergent performances in the same shot. And because he has two takes of each scene, Nolan has the luxury of shaping Eckhart's performance in post; it's just a matter of switching the dial between normal Harvey and bug-fuck Two-Face.

Again, both will be present in the shot, but only one will dominate the poor bastard's conflicted consciousness at any given moment. The technical audacity required in pulling this off may be the reason Two-Face was held back in the trailer."

In other 'Knight' news, the Harvey Dent viral campaign continues apace with pre-recorded calls going out from Dent (Aaron Eckhart) himself and the website IBelieveInHarveyDent.com updated with a short audio message (click here for the mp3 version) which is taking advantage of/satirising the current political campaigning going on for the US Democratic Primaries.

The New York Times has posted a fascinating report from the set of "The Dark Knight," the upcoming sequel to "Batman Begins" and one of the biggest releases of the year.

Some new revealing facts are revealed. First up, the $180 million project doesn't employ a second-unit meaning that if it's on camera then Director Chris Nolan shot it himself.

There's definite thematic overtures of escalation as previously stated, Nolan saying that "As we looked through the comics, there was this fascinating idea that Batman’s presence in Gotham actually attracts criminals to Gotham, attracts lunacy. When you’re dealing with questionable notions like people taking the law into their own hands, you have to really ask, where does that lead? That’s what makes the character so dark, because he expresses a vengeful desire."

Most revealing is a completely different look this time around from 'Begins' with Gotham City far more of a modern metropolis with sleek towers, shiny surfaces, bright lighting. Nolan’s production designer Nathan Crowley says “I’ve tried to unclutter the Gotham we created on the last film. Gotham is in chaos. We keep blowing up stuff. So we can keep our images clean."

Best of all are four new images which can be viewed by clicking here.
