there's an article about the making of this movie in the latest wired magazine.

after i finished it, i wanted to go immediately to an imax cinema to see this movie. it looks absolutely brilliant.

Is it even out yet? The Dark Knight graphic novels by Frank Miller were fucking awesome.

yeah they were, but this film is a different story altogether. no superman here.

i'll probably do the screening of batman begins, but i always feel so crammed on opening nights. i dunno, maybe i'll try it once more. :)

get in early, secure a middle seat.
rejoice in the mass effect of a crowd all gasping, cringing and laughing together :D

i actually like being in there with minimal people. too many people around here like to talk, loudly at that, during the entire movie no matter which theater we go to. and to be honest, paying $10 to talk to my friends in a dark room seems like a rip off, or maybe that's just me. :)

i can't wait. i can't stand the opening weekend (too many loud kids), but will be seeing this on a monday or tuesday night.

the commercials are driving me crazy. heath's joker really seems like it will eclipse jack nicholson's, something many thought absolutely impossible just a month or two ago.

I can't recall ever anticipating a film as much as I do this one. %)

Initial word starting to seep out is that it's fucking incredible - the Joker & the other bad guy in particular.

RIP Mr Ledger. Me suspects that you may have left us with not one, but two iconic performances in your short lifetime.

this thing is gonna hit hard. there is a pre-release buzz around this film that is getting nuts. i know i'm stoked.

this is kind of revealing the nerd in me, but i made a ring tone from the jokers dialogue in one of the trailers. its basically the most awesome thing in the world.

dated last thursday

There's still over a week before "The Dark Knight" hits theaters.

Yet with almost all of the 1,500 midnight Thursday night showings next week sold out, theaters have been adding 3am and 6am pre-opening showtimes to meet demand.

Fandango reports that "The Dark Knight" is poised to be the year's top advance ticket-seller in wide release and is already easily outpacing "Iron Man," "Indiana Jones 4" and "Sex and the City" at the same point in those films' sales cycles.

MovieTickets.com meanwhile reports that the pre-sales for the film's tickets are already higher than such major openers as "Spider-Man 3", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers," "The Matrix Reloaded" and "Passion of the Christ".

Tracking figures posted at Hollywood Elsewhere on Tuesday showed a 31% 'first choice' rating, a figure that will only go up as next week approaches - probably hitting towards 40% on the day of release. In comparison, the 'first choice' figures on the day of release was 31% for "Iron Man", 26% for "Wall-E" and "Wanted", and 14% for "The Incredible Hulk".

"Indiana Jones" and "Iron Man" hold the biggest three-day openings of the year so far with $100.1 million and $98.6 million respectively. Despite stellar reviews and good tracking, there hangs a question mark over its ability to smash those records. Mostly this is due to the film's very dark subject matter keeping the pre-teen crowd away and the 2.5 hour runtime limiting sessions.
