Good for an action film, horrible for any sort of plot. Sort of like Armageddon, good if you want some laughs and 'oohs and ahhhs' as people die spectacular deaths. Bad if you like any sort of decent plot. I dunno, I would definitly recommend seeing it when you are drunk and wanting to see some good old 'entertainment'. This is not a thinking mans movie, but many parts will leave you in stiches, it has great action sequeences, and its definitly worth a watch. I would put this under action comedy.

P.S. Fuck that stupid racist joke in it. How 'bout I shove a coke up your ass ? And why the hell are they killing drug dealers and pimps ? They think they are better then them ? I know it was originally to save the 'irish bar' and such but even those guys turned against them.
 
This was a great movie! All of you haters would have probably liked it better if there were tons of naked bitches running around.
 
I loved this movie as well....One of my all time favs....Nothing i really didnt like about the movie.....The highlight was Dafoe....he stole the show
 
it's been a while since i saw this movie, but i remember really enjoying it. i started it with no expectations and ended up liking it.
 
Not the greatest movie of all time, but definitely more than enjoyable. I've seen it a couple times, and it's always entertained me. I think the brothers are hot, so that may skew my opinion a bit... :D
 
ive seen this film for the first time a few weeks ago. while the action had me interested the whole time , i thought it was very unrealistic, but entertaining. i gave it 3/4 stars
 
Willem is awful in this movie, but I still love it. Maybe it's the Irish-Catholic in me, but it's an ass-kicking style flick that doesn't try to be anything else.

how does people hyping it make a movie better or worse than what it inherently is on its own?

i liked the movie, and would probably feel the same whether it was popular or not.

it certainly doesnt. it influences how a veiwer receives the movie. if a dozen people pull me aside to tell me about a film i will hold it to a much higher standard than something i just stumbled upon. illogical? possibly. reality? yup
 
love it!

imy brother owned it and told me to watch, ibut i had never heard about it before. i've actually introduced it to many people.

and, fuck me! i'd be all about incest if i could fuck those two brothers. they're both gorgeous and accents really had me!

p.s. also, did anyone else catch "overnight"? i believe that was the name. it was alll about the writer and what a cocky bastard he is/was. it showcases his li'l rise to fame and then watches him fall. good times.

Heh, ironically enough I JUST finished watching right now and loved it. I love the underlying theme and morals and I certainly love the characters of the brothers and Rocco. All around, it's a great move.
 
at first i really liked it, who doesnt love the idea of some vigilante above-the-law justice? guys who are saying screw the red tape, were going to punish criminals. i loved that aspect of it.
but some parts of it dont make sense, like how these guys are all of the sudden professional killers who know to spray a crime scene with bleach, and who are great shots hanging upside down and shooting crooks while spinning from a line. maybe some back story would help. did i miss something? why would these guys put coins in the eyes of the dead? isnt that a greek thing? i mean its a cool touch, but why?
the writing seems spotty in it sometimes too, and the rocco character is stock bumbling sidekick. i do like it that ron jeremy gets it in a strip club though, very poetic.
so i guess my vote is just love it, but dont think about it.

that is the whole point though, that it was divine intervention that assisted them in performing these acts so perfectly!!

they put the coins in the eyes to pay the toll for the guy that takes their souls across the river...don't remember the specifics...someone else can elaborate, i love the film, but haven't seen it in a while.
 
This movie was original and entertaining enough for me to enjoy it. Folks, it's only a movie. If you made it to the end without getting bored then it's probably and ok one, and it's alright to enjoy it. Not everything needs to be genre-shifting and make perfect sense (glaring pot holes exempt).

3 Stars and a "kiss it".

This is a movie that I could watch and enjoy again today, despite having already seen it twice previously. It must be doing something OK.

I heard they were making a sequel ("All Saints Day" - groan). Any news? To me it seems like an unnecessary sequel, like the rumoured one to Human Traffic.
