I just hired this dvd, going to watch it tonight but after reading some of the comments on here I might watch something else for a friday night movie and put it off for tomorrow night.
 
oh, i have one important point to make regarding the poo issue. I think it was quite an important element in the entire plot because, you see, if she did not have trouble pooing: a) mike (her bf) would have definitely fucked her in the room right on schedule ; b) he would not have called deborah harry (aka phone sex girl) to aid him with his erstwhile masturbation; c) there would be NO reason for shitgirl to undress the bugged-PatrickFugit (the pimply boy who ratted on them to the cops )to make spidermike jealous when she catches him jerking off ----> and SO then the big climax of the whole movie (ol of em goin to jail, bugboy getting his balls shot, et al) wouldnt have happened , leaving a gaping hole in an already flat storyline. So that shit scene was pretty relevant after all, ya see my point? whew. enough!
 
^^^Good point. Maybe the shit issue will finally dissapate. I own the DVD and am currently watching it. I thought it was a pretty good movie, good characters. Maybe stereotypical and un-real but I dont think they were supposed to be(realistic). Very visually pleasing, crazy, and kind of fast paced with not a lot of direction, like tweeking.

I was going on the conclusion you made that the point of the scene was to show the effects that meth had on her health. I guessed that was the point of the scene myself, but for all the reasons that i explained above that didnt come across too clearly for me.

finally watched this, must say it's a very average movie. I had to turn it off halfway and then go back and watch the other half an hour later as it was kind of boring me shitless.

quite correct... the stimulants usually gives you the runs...


however, sometimes, it gives you the false shits... where you're
basically "dry heving" out the ass... people confuse that with
constipation...

methinks the director never did meth.. which is why they
used that stoopid "Requiem for a Dream"isque eye rolling
visual representiation of getting high...

in my meth days, i never had meth so good it made my
eyes roll around... water, maybe... but roll around??

and i've done my fair share of some good ass meth.

Last night i watched the movie Spun, and I thought it was a good movie, and it had some pretty hilarious parts. I can relate to some of the movie. I was just wondering what everyone else thought of it.

Bull Shit!

I can tell you now that I spent days with the screaming shits when I having in some heavy bad tweaking spells. Even when I was drinking heaps of water. It was the reason I quit!

Back on topic. I didn't enjoy the film. I don't enjoy seeing traler trash on film, but it's only worse when they are a bunch of no hope tweakers. I only ever watched a TMD mpg of the movie, so I can't comment too much about the quality of film or acting because it was too blotchy.

i really enjoyed this. the frenetic pace and editing was put to good use (like an even more insane requiem) and leguizamo was as good as he always tends to be.

schwartzman put in a surprisingly good performance too, i thought.

though some of the hallucinatory stuff seemed a little too silly, in terms of entertainment i definitely enjoyed nearly every element of the film.

three stars from me :)
