I had to wonder after seeing this film, if the script started out as sincere attempt to make a statement about gun control, until they realised how ridiculous it is to do an action film on such a subject so they gave up and instead tried to push this movie into the suspect but often memorable "so bad it's good again" catergory?
This movie is
almost so bad that it's good, but it just doesn't make it somehow, so the movie ends up just being bad. They made an admirable attempt at making this film ludicrous with the cliches piled on top of eachother (Sexy, bad girl, love-interest + hooker with a heart of gold + russian accent

) and the completely overblown and unlikely action scenes (Smith has shoot outs with the bad guys while delivering a baby and then again whilst banging the actress with the bad russian accent), but somehow the whole thing fell a little flat for me. The humour in this film was badly timed and acted, and just didn't get a laugh out of me.
It's like this film is trying to be Con-Air, but it's too self-conscious and therefore not as funny.
Still it's OK if you have a couple of hours with nothing else to do, but it's not the kind of film you're going to watch twice.
