I think that might need a spoiler warning lol, well...

I think that the series is done. I think they wanted to end with a bad ending, and leave the audience with something to ponder. All of the main characters are dead now, and it is just that mate, his wife with an exploded head and his daughter. I don't really see a movie coming out of one scenario like that, but who knows? I think they mean for Saw 3 to be the end.

When someone who hasn't seen the movie clicks on a thread about the movie, what are they expecting to read besides opinions about it?

I've never understood this.

I agree, it is hard to talk about a movie like this without spoiling something about it. You probably would not want to go into a movie like this expecting a happy ending though, so some details are ok.

i quickly scrolled through this thead to the bottom to avoid catching any hints of spoilers. i'm really excited about this film. i loved the first two and i can't wait to see this one. i honestly don't care what any moviegoers or critics say about this film because i think that the majority didn't like the 2nd one, and yet i absolutely loved it. hopefully this one lives up to my expectations.

i definitely prefer movies that leave you thinking "what the fuck is wrong with that character?!?! to the movies that cause the occasional jump and scream. and there's nothing wrong with some good old gore too ;)

Not that we haven't reported this a couple times previously, but The Associated Press have finally officially confirmed that Lionsgate is prepping SAW 4 for Halloween 2007.

i finally saw the 3rd one... basically, if you liked the first 2, you'd like the 3rd. if you didn't like the others, you won't like this one either. and i think that someone would definitely have to watch the other 2 first to understand this one, since there are so many flashbacks.

i wonder how they will do the 4th one. john's dead. his apprentice is dead. all the survivors were killed by amanda except for the father in this recent movie. who will act like jigsaw? maybe there will be some type of copycat murders going on? in the movies they do let you know that these murders are described in the media... so it's possible that anyone could read about them and copy jigsaw's style. not as well or with as much meaning, but i suppose they could try to copy his style in some way.

just saw this last night,
possibly the most disguisting film ive ever seen. gotta love it though, rated it 4/5. wasnt as good as the first but its rare to see a sequal better than the original. dont think there will be a 4th, everyones killed off except the guy, and it would be retarded if they made him the new jigsaw.

^^^ read my post 2 posts above your's... there is a 4th, coming out next halloween.

lol completely missed that. wow didn't think they'd try and milk this series for another one

I *do* think there will be more of these, simply because they make money. And, I do have an idea of how the can create these endlessly:
NSFW:

Just like they are coming out with a new Hannibal Lecter film about him growing up and becoming evil, they can do the same with Jigsaw - you have no idea how many people he's messed with before the first film :\ In Saw 3 you got glimpses of his life before, back when there was a woman he apparently loved. So, you've got the opportunity to fill in the blanks of who was she, what did she mean to him, is she the root of his path to destruction? How long ago was that, and what did he do between then and Saw 1? By the time Saw 1 occurred, he'd become fairly polished and thorough with his traps and studies of people. And on that thought - nobody has addressed how he picks his victims, how he knows so much about them, the people in their lives, their secrets, etc.

There is *SO* much still to be explored and explained, or continually avoided as we explore his other killings (ala Freddy and Jason).

I will also say, I'm not to sure how much I liked the approach of this film. It was better storyline arcing, as it brought every death and trap together, with several pleasing implications/twists, but it cut down on the eclectic variety of victims - which I think is why I liked Saw 2 better. Still, for having chosen this direction with the film, I think they did it justice - still plenty of irony in the 'traps'.

Saw this one last night, I wasn't too impressed with it. But then again, I wasn't really with the first 2 either.

Movies like this generally suck. What's the point of seeing nothing but a black screen with maybe a 1/4 of it showing "something" that you still can't even make out? And those people deserve to die. Quite whining like a bitch about shit and just fucking get through it.

But aside from that, I will give them some credit on the wacky death-contraptions, some of it was pretty gory.

Still wouldn't recommend this film to anyone, but I hate cheap suspense/horror movies like this.

"Oh no! please let me go" yeah whatever you dumb bitch

So much better then the 2nd one. First one still takes the cake because of originality and shooting style, but this one was a lot of fun too.
