i thought the character juno was super annoying and every time she spoke I wanted to cut her head off with a box cutter. Maybe I don't relate to teens nowadays, but if that's how teens really talk now than please I don't ever want be around any of them. Is that what "emo" is?

And Michael Cena is the biggest pile of horseshit to exist. How the fuck did that douchebag ever get famous?

This movie was pretty good (4/5). It realy isw more geared toward people that are between the ages of 14-19 though. Suprisingly enough, Ellen Page manages to pull off the dialogue handed to her without sounding really corny, something I know a lot of people might disagree with. The thing that wil keep this movie from being relevant for more than a couple years is the soundtrack, which dates it pretty severely.

OK, this movie really irritated me. I don't get all the hype. Ooh it has a couple of quirky faces, lame dialogue, and a soundtrack with a couple of good songs, big deal. I just couldn't stand this rubbish. does anyone know what I'm sayin? Best Picture of the year my white ass. I guess it's a good work of art and worth seeing but i won't be purchasing this crap. Ellen page is annoying as fuck and michael cera is a worthless waste of space, has no direction in his "career" and just plain sucks.

I never read this thread, and I expected it to suck . But my sister lent me her DVD last night and with nothing better to do I watched it. I liked it. It left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Ellen Page kinda irks me tho, especially in Hard Candy 8( but in this performance she manages to annoy me only at certain moments.

Ps. I liked the songs..especially the Astrud Gilberto in the very beginning ;) After hearing that I was like a good start.

ellen page annoyed me in hard candy too... i do agree with lacey's feelings on it but i still enjoyed the movie for what it was

its a funny thing. this movie had a great affect on me. it restored my hope in life humanity so to speak but funny thing is i wasnt hopeless prior to viewing. i guess it was a feel good kinda story (yes even w/ divorce cuz both parties ended up happy) w/ great production. a rare 5 stars for me.

wow. i was going to totally defile this movie i've never seen after what lacey wrote but i guess everyone subsequently summed up my predictions/thoughts as well. personally, i blame woody allen for popularizing the nervous, motor-mouthed, emotional loser and giving hope to douchebags living in starbucks with their grande latté making up bullshit dialogue that clearly has no semblance to what happens in a real life... unless you're a douche who graduated from a film school known only by the advertisements for it plastered all over the transit system of NYC.

I used to kind of like Woody Allen .....now I can't stand him :( Arrrgh!

Carry on ;)

Are there any other good films apart from Juno and Hard Candy that Ellen Page has been in?

Never heard of that before but it looks interesting so I'll have to get it if I see it about, thanks.

I didn't enjoy this movie. I'm not saying it was bad, but that it justn' wasn't sometihng I'm interested in. This is probably because I couldn't relate to any of the characters and the problems they faced.
Somebody already said this - that it didn't seem very realistic - a comfortably middle class girl getting pregnant and having it without any consequences.
The dialogue and the phrases the Juno girl used were odd at first, but in hindsight, maybe not. I knew a couple of kids in highschool who made up words and expressions like that, but most did'nt.

The dialogue in the first quarter of the film had me rolling my eyes and considering turning this off. It was worth the cost of rental and the time to watch, but definitely not the best film of the year.

I really liked this movie. It was different.

5/5 for me.

The dialogue was very good and the characters and the story kind of suck you in after a while. I have never seen Ellen Page in a movie before this but I have to say I was impressed with the way she delivered her lines so naturally and confidently.
