Spoiler: Remember that one part where the asian chick's eyeball is hanging. When paxton cut off the hanging eyeball, the yellow liquid kinda looked like mustard. I was thinking....hmmm that'll go well with my hot dog. lol

Too intense for me. I nearly puked after finishing it tonight. I am not one to shy away from gore and bloodshed, but this was too much. It had no real plot, it had no rhyme or reason, it was torture pure and simple. This should have an NC-17 rating, perhaps more... SAW is nothing compared to this, S7VEN - can't even compare. At least not in terms of pure deprevity and sickness.. at least saw had some kind of reason.. this was... too much...

To all those who were not effected... WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED TO YOU ? I consider myself of strong stomach and I absolutely love horror movies, but this is like booking front row tickets to a snuff film. No thank you.

P.S. Food is comforting. You want at least some kind of comfort when you're watching a film like this, it's not strange that you were eating. I, unfortunatly, had no food.



SPOILER - Even the ending did not do justice. He ends up murdering those people and I felt no better that he did it. That was just fucked up, and its not like he even managed to stop any of what happened. He merely escaped with his life, still flawed and forever broken. He may have lived, but what kind of existance do you think someone who went through that kind of expirience would have ? I may be philosophising this too much, but I think this movie is not fit for sane individuals.

I thought this movie was very well produced. The characters were all very personable, and the first hour or so made you really wish you were there hanging out and partying with them -- up until the script flips, and shit starts to get a bit twisted.. %) Lots of tits. I like tits. :D I was honestly expecting a lot more gore, but I guess that's because I've been watching so many crazy Japanese movies lately.. The Japanese are sick fucks. And I love it!!! :D

Anybody catch the cameo by Takashi Miike (my favorite horror film director on the planet)??

By far the worst and most boring movie I have ever watched in my entire life. I went into this with an open mind and had no bad/good intentions about this movie. I saw no previews, and refused to read comments about it so I went in like a virgin. Ok I am not going to spoil it for anyone wanting to see it but the entire movie was bullshit. I thought I was watching a movie withabout as much of a storyline as a softcore porn flick. The violence was just gory and really wasnt entertaining at all. I was very sad that terrantino had anything to do with this movie. So my advice for anyone wanting to see this is save your money and go buy faces of death and some porn it will be pretty much the same thing.

Dood, if you have Showtime, check out their Masters of Horror special Friday nights at 10pm, which is airing original 1-hour flicks by several fascinating directors, including Takashi Miike.

I got showtime and I watch the masters of horror show ondemand right after they air. Some of the stories are absolutely ridiculous but some of them rule. The one where the zombies swayed the election was fucking hilarious.

i agree...quentin tarantino lost major points with me for putting his name on this horrible movie. i had originally thought he'd directed it, then found out he'd just put his name on it and went to see it anyway...big mistake

i knew within the first 5 minutes that i was gonna hate the movie...horrible acting, not scary just really gory (which i hate movies that just gross you out and think it'll scare you), i guess the plot was okay, but all the naked women was what really bothered me. yes half the movie really is naked gurls and no i didn't pay $8.50 to see a bunch of tits...i would have rented porn if that's what i wanted to see. watching this movie from a feminist perspective, i felt that the way it portrayed women was very chauvinistic (as skinny, big breasted, beautiful, sexual slaves) ughh //pukes

not to forgot how ugly they looked. my oh my were those some really horsey, in-bred lookin bitches! their faces were scary. their acting was pathetically arrogant. the scenes with any of the asian women
were probably the only parts that had any redeeming quality as far as acting goes. the acting by asian women being the only worthwhile acting done seems to be the case with a lot of Tarantino-affliated products.

Some of the comments that people are making about this movie give me FLFOS - Frontal Lobe Falling Out Syndrome. Comments like "the entire movie was bullshit" or "too much gore/tits" or "no plot" are SO amazingly stupid that just reading them makes me feel like I have been labotomized.

I'd like everyone who makes such blanket statements to back up their words. Give us specific examples of just what made the movie SO unbearable to you. Contrast that by telling us how you feel the movie could have been better, or citing examples of what you think are good moments in horror/slasher/exploitation flicks. Because until you do, you have no room to talk as if you actualy know what you are saying.

I have watched hundreds of bad horror movies. I mean the worst piles of shit ever to be put on film. Hostel is not one of them. Hostel is the kind of movie that I can respect because it is unapologetic in it's total lack of compasion. That is one of the main points of the movie. It never attempts to justify or rationalize the torture, violence and murder. It's just there. As a result, it makes the overall experience of empathizing with the victims that much easier. Put yourself in that position. You wake up in a dingy dungeon and some strange person senslessly tortures the fuck out of you. It IS graphic, yes, but it's not NEARLY as graphic as it COULD have been. Rather than trying to gross you out by showing someone slice off his own tongue in graphic detail, you instead get to squirm in your seat because of the anticipation of what you know is going to happen with those bolt-cutters or the drill or the benz-o-matic only to cut away at the crucial moment.

Where there a lot of tits? Yes. Deal with it. If you don't want to watch a movie with tits and gore, look at the rating on the bottom of the movie poster. If it says something like "Rated R due to profanity, extreme violence and excessive nudity", and you know that extreme violence and excessive nudity are the kinds of things you don't like in a movie, don't fucking go see it.

If you really did "know in the first 5 minutes that I would hate the movie", get up, find an usher, ask for your money back and go home. Seriously.
