p.s.: to add further to dd's manson defence, i agree entirely. he could have taken lead roles in any number of movies but instead he's allowed himself to take smaller roles and learn what being an actor really is.

manson is a great guy, and unfairly crucified by many.

dude, i'll be up for that (if it's true)! there is unfortunately no word about it at the IMAX aus website, but it does say Robots will be out here in IMAX, so I'll probably do that as well.

Keep in mind that unless the movie was shot with an IMAX camera, it won't fill the whole screen. We have regular movies played in the local IMAX here all the time, but they're always just 70 mm. To be fair though, IMAX surround sound can't be beat...

Almost a little to unreal looking though.
The factory, characters etc almost look to fake, too many things look obviously animated.
I'll wait until I see it before I comment further.

i love the original, Gene Wilder was amazing as Willy Wonka. Depp has bitten of a decent sized part here, but if his performances as Cpt Jack Sparrow are any indication he should be able to pull things together quite nicely.
