Film: Bubba Ho-Tep

I watched this tonight. Fantastic film, Bruce Campbell is made up so well he is barely recognisable. Plus little trace of his voice remains, he impersonates Elvis so well.

This was really entertaining and fun to watch. I don't know if it has the re-watchability of the Evil Dead films but I will definitely see this a few more times, maybe even purchase it. The whole premise is great, props to the author that wrote the short story it was based on.

when my friend first put this movie on, i was confused as to what to expect- horror, comedy, just weirdness? it ended up being really funny. it's definitely not one of my top movies, but it was a great one-time-viewing film.

Bubba Ho-tep (2002)

Based on the Bram Stoker Award nominee short story by cult author Joe R. Lansdale, Bubba Ho-tep tells the "true" story of what really did become of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis (Bruce Campbell) as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death", then missed his chance to switch back. Elvis teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks that he is actually President John F. Kennedy, and the two valiant old codgers sally forth to battle an evil Egyptian soul-sucking mummy who has chosen their long-term care facility as his happy hunting grounds.

just got the dvd the other day n' this movie kicks ass, anyone else seen it ? if your a fan of bruce campbell or ossie davis its a must they both are great in this film. its directed really well with elements of horror, dark comedy, n' drama, its got it all folks! there is reportedly a sequel in the works with paul giamatti called Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires.
