Sean Penn is a god. Benicio is amazing and I just absolutely love Naomi Watts. Three of my favourite actors, there was no way I was going to miss this movie.

This movie was incredible.

I liked the non-chronological order of this movie.

I went to see this movie with a friend, and he hated it. He thought that a chronologic order would have built up more suspense because he felt that showing all of the pivotal scenes in the beginning of the movie was anti-climactic.

I disagree with that though... Throughout this movie I kept trying to piece the scenes together, trying to figure out who did what and when and where... And I like that.

I haven't seen Amores Perros, but I certainly will now. And I'll be looking forward to see more from this director in the future.

Watched it last night, it wasn't necessarily bad, it just wasn't great either.

The best part is the final 2-3 minutes, when Penn's character has deep thoughts in his hospital bed. I don't necessarily like the non-chronological order of things, I can't see a purpose for it, but it played out okay. :\

watts is better than in MD.

sorry, have to disagree with you on that one. Watts certainly WAS sensational in this movie, but, her performance in MD, imho, was brilliant. (or maybe im just incredibly biased towards MD because its brilliant itself, but yeah. ) ;)

...my 2 cents!!!!!!!!!......

I think ive posted i thought this was a good movie somewhere, i thought it was in this thread but obviously not! It was a good movie, not best ever or anything, but yeah it was a good watch.

Benecio Del Toro and Sean Penn was freaking awesome in this movie. I love the way the movie was presented.

i've been really dying to see 21 grams.

worst pun evAr ;)

if you have a soul, please go see this movie!

I havent felt this way about a film in a long time. every aspect of the film was extremely well done. I personally really enjoyed the fragmented presentation. BA i can give you one reason for a non linear approach. In the film you're dealing with 3 groups of people who have had their lives totally turned upside down. isnt this feeling of chaos and confusion imparted quite effectively to the view when he/she doesnt know exacctly wtf is going on themselves? thats what i got out of it ne way. there was so much emotion in this movie; i was teary-eyed several times. i dont think i would've enjoyed it as much if it had gone from a to b so simply.

the score was outstanding and so was the acting. I think those "THE TRUTH". com people need to get after sean penn for making smoking look so damned cool;)

best film i've seen in a while

^i agree. i absolutely loved this movie. one of the best made in a long time. mystic river had nothing on this one.
everyone should have won oscars for this film.

I saw this sometime last weekend I think..I really enjoyed the choppy style..I like movies that are not completely obvious from the begining..I liked the fact that for the first 45 minutes or so I could just take in these momentary scenes in these peoples lives without entirely understanding what was going on.

A very good film. Quite sad..but very well done.

Two thumbs up!

Just saw this on DVD and I have to agree with all the nay-sayers on the time distortion. I really had no idea what was going on for the first, say, half hour or so. I thought they were flashing back to some drug deal gone wrong. (Note: I was under the impression the film was about drugs, despite the fact that I had heard about the 21 grams thing.) During the period that I was totally confused about what was happening and when, I just sat back and enjoyed the acting. All the leads were absolutely fantastic. cravNbeets is dead on with Penn's ability to make smoking seem really cool. All in all, I did enjoy it, but it was not as mind blowing as I had expected.

I guess I'm the only person that was really annoyed with this movie, from beginning to end. The story was good, yes, the time jump was cool, but I was so irritated throughout the whole flick. I can't put my finger on why.

However, I'm not great at analyzing movies :\ I liked "Lost in Translation" better....

hmm Well I have to say I saw lost in translation and I also enjoyed it a lot. But this post is about 21 grams. What can I say, I think some of the acting was incredible, specially on Del'Toro's part. Was I blown away by this movie? Well actually yes for the most part I was. It's definately a movie everyone should at least give a try (I won't go as far as to say its the best movie of the year etc., but its definately worth at least checking out).

Once again I don't fit in with the general consensus of bluelight :\ (fucking drug addicts;) )

I thought 21 grams was a depressing waste of a few hours.

^^^ any particular reasons? i liked the film, but i can see a few areas where some might pick faults (the intentionally "indie" look; its lack of linearity; its overblown confidence in a philosophical concept that it hardly even explores, etc.).

you guys should check out the previous released movie from the director...amores perros...it's really great and I personally think it's better than his 2nd movie overall.
