FIFA World Cup 2010 Feat. The Darling Harbour big screens = good time Event

wow, that was def worth being up for, im happy i was at home under a doonah for it.

where to start...

Moore and Chipperfield, too old, too slow. there is nothing else i can say on them
Neill - mate, stop whinging and playing the offside trap, after it didnt work the first 3 times, you should give it a rest. You nearly go into the too slow basket, but im going to give you the benefit of the doubt because you were too busy looking at the ref and touchies with your arms in there Air screaming...

GOALSIDE!

Wilkshire, Emerton and Culina tried their asses off. im not usually a big fan of emerton, but he played well for us, why he was taken off? when he playing so well, didnt have a card is beyond me.

The handball, shit happens, yeah, we got fucked on that time, but you gotta keep on playing

the red card, that was bullshit, if Timmy got a card for that. Lucas should of been in jail for the knee in the back.

there was no use getting Harry, Bresciano or Kennedy on after the card, but where the fuck were they? Grella wasnt having the best game in the 1st half, but i dont know why he was taken off, he is a bit dirty, but he is solid as a rock.

A lot has to change before we play Ghana... They are going to need speed in the backline.. they also need a backline that communicates. My only gripe with Wilkshire was he was always up. There is no choice in my opinion, but to start harry on the left and put Josh up front. we need to score at least 2 against them and keep a clean sheet.

that being said... i take my hat off to Germany. They didnt have a bad player, if they did, it was probably the goalie and we didnt know he was having a bad game, because he didnt have to do anything...Their vision and speed was just way to superior for us.

on another topic.. Who picked Zelko Kalac's tie... fuck i wanted to spew

Great post. Totally got it all perfect mate.

I wonder who will start next up?

We can win both games but Pim will need to change everything in terms of tactics from the past 18 months.

I wish I knew the truth behind kewell and Bresciano not going out to warm up.

Awesome post, Chopsy. There is no fucking way I'm getting up early to watch this shit if I can just read quality posts like that instead :D

Pim didn't care about this game. I'm sure he already wrote it up as a loss. Not the Australian way. Wish they had an Aussie coach. Although who I don't know.

Come on NZ tomorrow! I've got $10 on them at $1000 to win the tourny. That won't happen but if they sneak a couple of wins I should be able to trade out for a little profit! Or not.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I think the red card hurt our spirit more than anything.. it's not like Cahill actually did anything before he was sent off :|

Wasn't like he wasn't warned about it two weeks ago against NZ. Pim even said he would have seen red if it was the world cup. It was well late, from behind and high up the leg. He is crying that he didn't hurt the guy but it doesn't take studs up to bust a knee.

timster knew he was doing wrong, that's why he pulled his feet back during his tackle. red was really harsh.

when they show the highlights of the Cahill incident, you see Luke Wilkshire put his head in is hands... in his head you can see him saying... "Now where fucked"

The Germans played well... but still, I was quite upset to see the end result as 4-0 :( Looks like this world cup won't be a repeat of the last one

I agree we played like shit and I can't see us doing well, but we can at least take some heart from the fact that Germany is the top seed of the group and we still lost to Brazil last time. I want to watch the next game with at least some hope.. 8)

we played like shit most of the match, true (what's with the great build ups going back to the bloody defenders :!), but the start of both halves we began really strong, even dominating. we just need to stop losing our balls at the first sign of trouble. the first goal and the red card both turned our fellas into deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming semi.

We will be good for the ghana game. trust me. The thought that new zealand might possibly do better than us will be all the motivation needed.

^ Game on!

Well played NZ. I'm paying for the celebrations today though.... Going to be hard to front up to Origin tonight!

so with just over 24 hours till D-Day of course the Media are bashing up and spreading rumours... it will be interesting what is true and what is not. Grella not being there is big fuckup because he can usually stop anything down the middle before it gets to Neill or Moore.

This is my team for the Ghana game

Right Back - Wilkshire
Centre Back - Neill
Centre Back - Moore/Milligan/Beachamp - i still believe Moore is going to be too slow
Left Back - Carney/Chipperfield - i know chipperfield wont be quick enough, im not a carney fan, but at least he will keep up.
Defensive Midfield - Culina/Milligan
Right Mid - Emerton
Left Mid - Bresciano/Kewell
Attacking Mid - Kewell/Bresciano
Forwards - Kennedy & Garcia (i dont think Garcia did anything wrong, he didnt do anything right)

Obviously that looks bias to Millsy, but meh, fuck ya's all

as i said above, its a must win 2-0 game...

Serbia 1 - Germany - 0

at this stage (55th) minute... shit isnt looking good.

that being said... if it was to be Serbian win... it would leave the group open, but def means we would have to win both our games.

fuck, i just noticed Germany are down to 10 men Klose got 2 yellows in the first half, and Podalski just missed a penalty... FUCK

im in shock, a team that played just amazing last week have played so fuckin bad...

I have been thinkng about it since i saw the score...

We have no choice but to win both the games...

that way we would be guaranteed entry into the final 16 (wishful thinking if we play the way we did last week), otherwise these are the options.

Win 1 - Draw 1. Then we will be relying on a result in the Germamy-Ghana game... if it is a draw, we wont get thru, we wont have the goal difference

Win 1 - Lose 1 - again the goal difference.

Now we all know here, that by far, im not the brightest crayon in the box, but if Pim and his team cant get this thru their head they we need to win, they need a rocket shoved square up their ass.

I feel we are very much a confidence based team (there are plenty of league teams like this (parra)) If we can get the confidence, we are hard to stop. Its getting that confidence which looks like the hardest thing for us. A strong 1st half tomorrow, and i believe we can do it. a strong first half doesnt mean we score 2 and defend the 2nd half. A strong first half would be defending like a team, not persisting with something that isnt working, ball control and fluid passes, not hitting the panic button straight away, and just sheer composure.

my feel for tomorrow night's game is that we are "Hopeful"... if we play our game, and not get played... there is no reason why we cant do it

I just wanted to contribute to this thread by saying..

LOL :D

they wont dump him while he is over there... his contact is over after our last game anyways! so it doesnt really matter how far we get, he is already gone.

if they get rid of him over there, that means Arnold would take over, and we cant have that...

then there is the question of who is going to replace him once the world cup is over... as long as its not the dude from France, we should be fine
