FIFA World Cup 2010 Feat. The Darling Harbour big screens = good time Event

eggy, benefit said that he'll come if i go, so we decided to go. On top of that, the one HD screening of the NBA game 5 is on at 7am, so we can go from the soccer to the bball (either at home or perhaps star city:D).

They actually handed them out before the game. For free. Shut up with your stupid horns! However I do appreciate people blowing them harder when told to stop blowing them.
 
Sooo, prediction's for the Aussie VS Germany game?

I either reckon we will get thrashed or we will score early and will finish the game 1-0.

i have tried to sleep for over half an hour and cant... im just too excited.

So maybe if i lie down on the couch and watch the Ghana V Serbia game, hopefully i will get some shut eye before the kick off!!!
 
i've already crashed for almost 3 hrs, but i cant sleep any more. might just have to hit the tea and stay up.

I havent missed a game yet and even managed a few hours shut eye today for a while.

Cant wait for the game and I am soo hoping for a draw or even a surprise win.

i recall watching the 06 cup from my first trip to china and australia really stood out in quality football. we did far better than our flakey history. man, i hope they can bring it again. just to pass the first round would be epic.

i slept thru most the ghana game, and from reading facebook statuses, im guessing there was a dodgy call again the serbs.

im guessing the team would know the result of that game, knowing that another team has the 3 points should also inspire us not to settle for a draw.
 
Standing in the freezing cold and staring down a 4-0 loss (at this stage at least pleeeeeeeease no more) but if was a sociologist/anthropologist/psychologist I may have definitely picked u something from the crowd mood here.

When I get home and I can actually *feel* my fingers, i'll make a comment about the game, right now though.... I seek comfort
 
fuckin strong start by the boys. but that questionable first goal took the wind out of their sails. the red card killed us. then they were playing in concrete boots.


darling harbour was insane. both areas were well and truely closed by the time i got there. i watched the first half through a tree branch from the exhibition centre with the masses that couldn't get in. there were just as many outside as in. got really fucking cold towards the end. four layers on top and the cold gusts still cut through.
 
A team built around Champions League football vs a team built around the English Championship. Cahill's red while a little harsh was probably given on reputation. I remember everyone saying after the NZ warm up that if it was the world cup Cahill would have been sent off.

Kewell, Bresciano and Kennedy all left on the bench. Perhaps Pim had a bet on the Germans with a 4 goal spread. Either way it's a good morning to be curled up under a doona watching football. Bring on Game 5 of the NBA...

Wilkshire, Emerton and Culina tried their asses off. im not usually a big fan of emerton, but he played well for us, why he was taken off? when he playing so well, didnt have a card is beyond me.

The handball, shit happens, yeah, we got fucked on that time, but you gotta keep on playing

the red card, that was bullshit, if Timmy got a card for that. Lucas should of been in jail for the knee in the back.

there was no use getting Harry, Bresciano or Kennedy on after the card, but where the fuck were they? Grella wasnt having the best game in the 1st half, but i dont know why he was taken off, he is a bit dirty, but he is solid as a rock.

A lot has to change before we play Ghana... They are going to need speed in the backline.. they also need a backline that communicates. My only gripe with Wilkshire was he was always up. There is no choice in my opinion, but to start harry on the left and put Josh up front. we need to score at least 2 against them and keep a clean sheet.

that being said... i take my hat off to Germany. They didnt have a bad player, if they did, it was probably the goalie and we didnt know he was having a bad game, because he didnt have to do anything...Their vision and speed was just way to superior for us.

on another topic.. Who picked Zelko Kalac's tie... fuck i wanted to spew
 
Kalac and the ref have the same hairdresser as well.

The Germans looked good no matter how poor Australia were. But this is the World Cup so no surprises there.

Emerton is playing for a contract so no surprise he was in everything.
 
oh, i thought they owned a fish and chip shop together and just used the cooking oil to slick up. Im sure at one stage i saw a Battered sav popping out of the back of kalac's head

there was one point of the morning i was bitterly disapointed in myself.

i was agreeing with Kevin Muscat about playing the offside trap.

Kevin doesnt play the offside trap, he just punches you in the head
