Apparently when the Disco Biscuits play Bonnaroo they have a masquerade ball thingie where everyone gets dressed up in costume for their set. Since they didn't play Roo this year, there was no widespread dressing up, but I do remember seeing a couple folks in costume before the Flaming Lips and it didn't seem to be a problem. Don't know what the search is going to be like this year though. I've never been, but like you have heard it's a bit rough. However, the country club they are holding it at is actually a biker country club?? My dad has a good friend that's into Harley's and owns a Harley shop so he is going to ask him if he has any idea what it's going to be like this year.

One rumor I heard was that the Hells Angels were going to be running security but I doubt that's true. Check out http://www.harleyrendezvous.com/

They have a an open letter to Camp Bisco fans and a map etc. Actually sounds pretty reasonable if you ask me. (Read their rules of the land too)

Yeah once I read the open letter it answered all my questions. I think it will be a great venue for it :)
 
Heads up to all those going to bisco.... Shpongle and Hallucinogen are NOT going to be on the bill anymore, in fact, no one from Twisted Records will be there due to some unknown conflict.

Check posford or younger brother's myspace blog and you can get it straight from the horse's mouth.

Woohoo. Now he won't be all tired hopefully when he gets to AR, and the throwdown will be 2x as intense. Sorry guys.

This is really bad news :( Almost the only reason I was going.
 
double check... they had to cancel some appearances. They may still be playing, but I couldn't find it listed anywhere except the symbiosis page.
 
My brother is going to Symbiosis so maybe if they're still on for it I'll trek out there.
 
i'm still debating whether i want to spend $125, have to drive 7-9 hrs and sacrifice some focus on school to go. i really, really want to fuckin go, i can't manage to justify it though. the previous gatherings looked amazing so it's tempting.

i think symbiosis would mention something about the cancellation.
 
Look like OTT is still on for Symbiosis, Shpongle is not listed. I don't remember is hallucinogen was supposed to play there or not, but since they are the same person (I don't think Raja Ram has been going), probably not. :/

Well Hallucinogen and Ott made it to Camp Bisco. They were late but they made it and their sets were incredible.
 
Weird. They said posford wasn't going to be there.

Did he just do the hallucinogen in dub thing w/ Ott, or did you get to hear some pure hallucinogen as well?

The shpongle/hallucinogen sets I just saw were downright mind blowing. Jesus couldn't have done better.

Does anyone know of the festival in NY this weekend with Ed Rosenthal? I coulnd't find it on jambase but came across the flier earlier today...
 
Summer is almost over but there are still a bunch of great festivals coming up in the New England area. Loved Camp this year but I need to get one or two last festivals in before I begin hibernation for the winter.

I want to attend:

moe.down 8 in NY Aug 31 - Sept 2

The two festivals at Harry Brown's Farm in Starks, ME coming up in Sept and Oct.

The 8th Annual Wormtown Music Trading Festival in Greenfield, MA Sept 14 - 16

And of course, the NY Harvest Festival and Freedom Fair featuring Ed Rosenthal Oct 5 - 8.

Now the problem is the conflict of dates.. Harry Brown's HarvestFest is the same weekend as the NY Harvest Festvial. Been to Harry's before and love the vibes, anyone got any insight on what one could expect at the NY Harvest Festival??

I know moe.down will probably be fantastic, but I've never been to that festival either, so if anyone has gone and can give me an idea of what to expect (I guess you have to haul all your stuff from your car to the camping area??) and what sort of vibes are there, I would really appreciate it.

So sad that summer is almost over, but at least there are a few more shows to catch before hibernation sets in! Thanks in advance for any insight!

strange creek vibes and moe. down so far strange creek and vibes lineup is good this year and the down hasnt announced any other bands but we all know theres gonna be alot of moe.
