How much fentanyl would it take to kill a non tolerant 150pd user, im guessing a 75ug/per hour patch.

Also a fentanyl patch 100ug is 100ug/ per hour for 72hours or 100ug/ over the course 72hours... i dont know if im confused or dude is confused.

Also is smokeing a full 2.5mg patch for an occasional user dangerous.... I use 80-90mg of hydrocodone to nod.

i gotta tell ya; fent gel is not all that. it's in freebase form, and doesn't seem to do all that much when eaten. the best thing to do is to wear the patch, and once it starts to work, then take some opioids orally or snort an oxy. it will greatly intensify the feelings.

smoking it is not all that either.

i am a tolerant user, so i don't want to disqualify the dangers entirely. but, i will tell you that the warnings are WAY over done. shooting it may be a different story. i have only smoked, eaten, and sublingual'd fent. none of which was anything close to what i was expecting.

Yea those stupid links had nothing to do with answering gettered's question, and espeically if the person has no experience with said drug.

To answer your question, a non-tolerant person CAN tolerate a full 75ug/hr patch orally, i have done so myself. Even an entire 100ug/hr patch orally may not kill someone. To be sure, two 100ug/hr orally should kill pretty much any non-tolerant person. But its definately feasible that a person could die from as little as a 50ug/hr patch orally, it really depends on body weight and metabolism of the individual......

And you shouldnt have any problem smoking an entire 25ug/hr patch, just take a whole bunch of sucessive hits. It has a pretty strong rush smoked, without most of the dangerous of IVing it, but as you probably know, smoking it doesnt last long, thats why you keep on smoking more and more hits. It makes you fiend like crack. But in anycase, dont worry, that dosage is fine at your tolerance, i thnk you could probably even handle more....

Smoking 2.5 fentanyl would be fine but 7.5 mgs would probably kill a non-tolerant user. I usually take 80-140 mgs of hydrocodone at a time and I would think that even 5 mgs of fentanyl MAY kill me but 7.5 would MOST definately kill my ass... so would 80 mgs methadone.

I havent been able to get my hands on fentanyl for months, preffer oxys for IV anyway but i used to smoke between 5mg and 7.5mg's then shoot half an OC80 but i recall it was nowhere near as intense as smack although those fentanyl patches did fuck me up back in the day.

5mg of fent would KILL you? i find that INCREDIBLY hard to believe. i have eaten 100ug patches and caught a buzz, smoked 'em and got a rush, but it was nowhere NEAR what i expected it to be. maybe in another form, but you will lose some of the drug in the GI as it is.

i dunno. i don't want to send people off on fent binges, but i've done a good bit of it. i think that the best way to use patches is to augment other opioids. wear the patch and you will get a buzz off of much lower than normal doses of your other opioids.

respiratory depression from fentanyl is very real...especially when combining it with other opioids. as with all things, start slow and find the sweet spot. there are no heros.

Yes, this is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. If a NON TOLERANT person were to do this, it is quite likely they will DIE. Fentanyl is not a joke, I had a friend (with lots of opiate experience and a small tolerance) die from WEARING a single 7.5mg patch. He was a 240lb 6'4" bodybuilder.

Just because a couple people WITH BIG HABITS have eaten an entire patch doesn't mean the opiate-naieve greenlighters who stumble across this thread will survive HAVING OVER 3 DAYS WORTH OF THE MOST POTENT MEDICALLY USED OPIOID HIT THEIR SYSTEM AT ONCE! There are 100 times the theraputic dose of Fentanyl in every patch!

Fentanyl-related deaths: demographics, circumstances, and toxicology of 112 cases.

Henderson GL.

Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of California-Davis.

Since 1979, the potent narcotic analgesic fentanyl and its analogs have been synthesized in clandestine laboratories and sold as heroin substitutes. At least 112 overdose deaths have been associated with their use. In this study, toxicology data, autopsy findings, and coroners' investigative reports were reviewed in order to construct a profile of the typical fentanyl overdose victim and to identify any factors that might heighten the risk of death from fentanyl use. The "typical" fentanyl overdose victim was 32.5 +/- 6.7 years of age (range, 19 to 57 years), male (78%, compared with 22% female), and Caucasian (50%, compared with 29% Hispanic, 20% Black, and 0.9% Asian). With the exception of his or her age, the typical fentanyl overdose victim is quite similar to the typical heroin user. Nearly all the deaths (94%) occurred in California, yet within the state they were widely distributed throughout 17 counties and 44 cities. Pulmonary edema and congestion and needle puncture sites were consistent postmortem findings. No preexisting medical conditions were identified as possible risk factors. Although most of the fentanyl victims had a prior history of intravenous drug use, morphine or codeine were not commonly found, which suggests that the victims had little or no opiate tolerance. Ethanol was present in 38% of the cases and is thought to be a significant risk factor. Mean fentanyl concentrations in the body fluids were quite low: 3.0 +/- 3.1 ng/mL (0.3 +/- 0.31 micrograms/dL) in blood and 3.9 +/- 4.3 ng/mL (0.39 +/- 0.43 micrograms/dL) in urine, measured by radioimmunoassay. Although the potency of the analogs and the purity of street samples varies considerably, it is probably the general availability of the drug rather than the potency of a particular analog that determines the incidence of overdose deaths.

wow some of those link where actually worth a shit... thanx man... fentanyl is dangerous, im still reading the links and tripping my ass off soooo... well anyways thanx dude you might have saved some one because im scoring a cuple patches soon and i was gonna be reccomending a whole 25ug patch... im trippin

hyperbole.

do you have a toxicology report proving that your friend died purely from WEARING THE PATCH? i doubt it.

yes, they can be dangerous. i think that your particular situation is just that. if you have autopsy and toxicology reports, then i'm all for the truth...but, i would be SHOCKED if your friend died from wearing the patch alone.

i realize that there is emotion regarding this subject for you. i also realize that a non-tolerant user should be extremely careful (if not leaving the patch alone altogether, until they have built a tolerance). and, while this is a harm reduction board, i also believe that there should be some rationale injected here. if you don't have straight-up facts regarding cause of death, then it is opinion...just like everyone else has been injecting into this thread.

i don't mean to down play the situation and/or death of your friend. please don't take that the wrong way. i have heard the story, and i feel for you. i just want to make that clear.

dude your right... fentanyl is dangerous... I know I can handle a whole 2.5mg patch... but for a non-tolerant user thats CRAZY!

Until you posted those links, i though fentanyl was just exaggerated and sht... but now I know its not to be fucked with... Im still going to do it, but im not going to IV it... i was going to IV a whole 5mg patch (i know i should slap myself)... I think i will just stick to smokeing the 25/ug patches.

When I use to take around 50-60mg of Oxycodone in a pop a 2.5mg patch eaten over an hour was plenty for the night.

I wore a 75/ug patch and was quite happy for an entire weekend.

Looked pretty cracked out though.

I'm curious as to the answer to this question also considering I am prescribed Duragesic. Anyone know?

im guess its a 100ug patch... mean 100ug per hour because there is NO WAY IN HELL those little 800ug actiq's contain 8 100ug patches worth of fenanyl... well thats my logic

Like i said, people can die from absurbly small amounts of fentanyl, but the question was how much fentanyl would kill a non-tolerant person. I have seen first hand people, and even myself when i had no opiate tolerance, eat 25, 50, 75 and yes 100 microgram/hr patches and not OD. By saying this i am in no way condoning eating any amount of fentanyl gel, as again, people can die from very low amounts. The question being what dose would SURELY kill a non-tolerant person, you have to count in the anomolies of people eating 100ug/hr patches (without tolerance) and not ODing, as well as the anomolies of people dying from a used 25ug/hr patch. Again, to surely kill a person, like say if a terminally ill person decided to take their life instead of suffering through cancer, it would be smart to take two 100ug/hr patches orally to ensure death. If they use one 100ug patch, they might not die, and instead suffer a painfull but non- lethal OD. This was the premise in which i said that I have seen and experienced first hand people eat 100ug/hr patches and survive. But keep in mind, im talking about euthanasia, not the amount you should take to get high. The question was "how much to kill a non-tolerant person".

Now if your trying to get high eating fentanyl gel, a inherently dangerous process that was not intended by the manufacturer as duragesics are supposed to be a TIME RELEASED medication (even wearing the patches is dangerous, as is taking any opioid), the least unsafe way to finding a recreational dosage of oral duragesic gel is starting below your threshold and SLOWLY titrating your way up in VERY small increments to meet but not exceed your tolerance. Even this is dangerous, as you may not know where to start, but like i said, start below threshold. But it is dangerous nonetheless, this is why people should just stick to wearing them, which can also be dangerous as well, as many deaths have resulted from wearing patches. But considering the other forms of administration, wearing the patch, as the manufacturer intended, is the safest way to use these.

But of course, there are many of you whose tolerance prohibits getting any recreation from wearing the patches, and people will inevitably take the gell using different methods of administration. I myself use the patches in the most unorthodox way, that is, via injection. I dont suggest anyone trying this just because of great risks involved. Believe me, if i could wear a 50ug/hr patch and get high, I would be very happy and would not consider injecting it. Im not going to go into how to inject the patches, as i dont advocate injecting them, but phreex did write a guide on injecting the patches (although i use a totally different method than he details).

The point is, use the safest method possible that your tolerance will allow. If you dont HAVE to inject to get high and wearing a patch gets you off, then by all means, just wear the patch. But i know the nature of drug users is seeking a better and stronger high, so people will do with they want. Hopefully they will do so in the safest manner possible.

Now i have done alot of risky things, and though I have injected obscene doses of opiates, barbituates, benzos, cocaine, methamphetamine etc, yet I have never ODed or come significantly close to ODing, which is partially due to luck, but i'd like to think that more than anything, I have not overdosed because i have developed a good sense of my personal limits. But i am FAR from infallible, and this doesnt mean that i dont take steps to plan in the event something does happen, as I always have a needles full of antagonists, atropine, diazepam and other medications to reverse the particular drug (along with administration instructions if i cannot self-administer), and when i crossing unknown territory, i will have someone who i tell that if i do not call them back or IM them in 3 minutes they should call 911 and have an ambulance sent to my residence. But as of late, i havent been "crossing unknown boundries", i have been sticking to what i know works and nothing that pushes the envelope, as i am somewhat done with alot of the self-experimentation that i was doing.

Im sorry about the diatribe, the point is, just because i said i have seen people do certain things or i have done certain things, it does not mean that i condone or suggest it. But in regards to what you might have read on internet forums, even if someone said "yea, injecting duragesics is perfectly safe", it is YOU that has to use your own discretion in interpeting the information. So please use your head, becarefull and take what people say on these forums with a grain of salt (more like a tablespoon of salt). This is not to say there is not valuable information on these forums, just the contrary, but its YOUR job to differentiate between what information is beneficial to you and what is not (and its my job to help eliminate misinformation and provide a safe enviorment for discourse, amoung other things)......

So be safe and have fun!

Woahh Negrogesic (T.T.D.) is the man! Pulls not shots, tells it like it is.
This is really confusing now. Firstly we had the people that said fentanyl was seriously dangerous, as in fuck-up and it will wipe you out. Then there was the wave of people saying how the dangers of fentanyl are exaggerated and that it is actually not as lethal as some people think, if used carefully in a controlled manor. Then it went back to saying how lethal it was again and doing anything other than wearing the patches was either a complete waste or a death wish. Now it seems as though fentanyl is unpredictable, you might die of a tiny amount or you might survive a relatively large amount even with no tolerance.

OK, when you say a small amount can be fatal, what are we talking here?
Could 1mg orally potentially kill an opiate naive individual?

I read somewhere that alcohol can fuck with the dangers...

I have eaten a 75ug/hour patch and was completely ROCKED! I honestly thought I was gonna die... I have never felt that way off any opiate in my life... sure was fun though... I would NOT suggest taking that much for a non-tolerant user.

^^^Remember, didnt i suggest you do that? I know you had a bit of a rough ride, but you had fun......

Im saying to becarefull, yes, i do believe that the potency of duragesics is exaggerated, especially by those who have little hands on experience with it. I have seen people down 100ug/hr patches with no tolerance and just get sick to their stomach, i have done it myself with no tolerance. But this isnt saying that you should go ahead and try to push the envelope and repeat this. So like i said, start below your threshold and titrate up as needed, if you have the luxury of having enough drug to do so......

And what does "T.T.D" mean?
