Like i said, people can die from absurbly small amounts of fentanyl, but the question was how much fentanyl would kill a non-tolerant person. I have seen first hand people, and even myself when i had no opiate tolerance, eat 25, 50, 75 and yes 100 microgram/hr patches and not OD. By saying this i am in no way condoning eating any amount of fentanyl gel, as again, people can die from very low amounts. The question being what dose would SURELY kill a non-tolerant person, you have to count in the anomolies of people eating 100ug/hr patches (without tolerance) and not ODing, as well as the anomolies of people dying from a used 25ug/hr patch. Again, to surely kill a person, like say if a terminally ill person decided to take their life instead of suffering through cancer, it would be smart to take two 100ug/hr patches orally to ensure death. If they use one 100ug patch, they might not die, and instead suffer a painfull but non- lethal OD. This was the premise in which i said that I have seen and experienced first hand people eat 100ug/hr patches and survive. But keep in mind, im talking about euthanasia, not the amount you should take to get high. The question was "how much to kill a non-tolerant person".
Now if your trying to get high eating fentanyl gel, a inherently dangerous process that was not intended by the manufacturer as duragesics are supposed to be a TIME RELEASED medication (even wearing the patches is dangerous, as is taking any opioid), the least unsafe way to finding a recreational dosage of oral duragesic gel is starting below your threshold and SLOWLY titrating your way up in VERY small increments to meet but not exceed your tolerance. Even this is dangerous, as you may not know where to start, but like i said, start below threshold. But it is dangerous nonetheless, this is why people should just stick to wearing them, which can also be dangerous as well, as many deaths have resulted from wearing patches. But considering the other forms of administration, wearing the patch, as the manufacturer intended, is the safest way to use these.
But of course, there are many of you whose tolerance prohibits getting any recreation from wearing the patches, and people will inevitably take the gell using different methods of administration. I myself use the patches in the most unorthodox way, that is, via injection. I dont suggest anyone trying this just because of great risks involved. Believe me, if i could wear a 50ug/hr patch and get high, I would be very happy and would not consider injecting it. Im not going to go into how to inject the patches, as i dont advocate injecting them, but phreex did write a guide on injecting the patches (although i use a totally different method than he details).
The point is, use the safest method possible that your tolerance will allow. If you dont HAVE to inject to get high and wearing a patch gets you off, then by all means, just wear the patch. But i know the nature of drug users is seeking a better and stronger high, so people will do with they want. Hopefully they will do so in the safest manner possible.
Now i have done alot of risky things, and though I have injected obscene doses of opiates, barbituates, benzos, cocaine, methamphetamine etc, yet I have never ODed or come significantly close to ODing, which is partially due to luck, but i'd like to think that more than anything, I have not overdosed because i have developed a good sense of my personal limits. But i am FAR from infallible, and this doesnt mean that i dont take steps to plan in the event something does happen, as I always have a needles full of antagonists, atropine, diazepam and other medications to reverse the particular drug (along with administration instructions if i cannot self-administer), and when i crossing unknown territory, i will have someone who i tell that if i do not call them back or IM them in 3 minutes they should call 911 and have an ambulance sent to my residence. But as of late, i havent been "crossing unknown boundries", i have been sticking to what i know works and nothing that pushes the envelope, as i am somewhat done with alot of the self-experimentation that i was doing.
Im sorry about the diatribe, the point is, just because i said i have seen people do certain things or i have done certain things, it does not mean that i condone or suggest it. But in regards to what you might have read on internet forums, even if someone said "yea, injecting duragesics is perfectly safe", it is YOU that has to use your own discretion in interpeting the information. So please use your head, becarefull and take what people say on these forums with a grain of salt (more like a tablespoon of salt). This is not to say there is not valuable information on these forums, just the contrary, but its YOUR job to differentiate between what information is beneficial to you and what is not (and its my job to help eliminate misinformation and provide a safe enviorment for discourse, amoung other things)......
So be safe and have fun!
