Absolutely DO NOT use the fentanyl in any way other than directed, and DO NOT tamper with the patch at all. Fentanyl preparations such as the transdermal patches contain enormous amounts of the drug, which is a very potent opioid, and using it improperly could lead to an early death via overdose. I am not saying this because I am anti-drug use, but because using fentanyl in the ways you have mentioned often has lethal result. It may not seem strong at all now as you are wearing the patch, and perhaps you require a higher dose or a change to another opioid analgesic for pain management, but fentanyl is still VERY dangerous to fuck with, and anyone will attest to this fact. Fentanyl often seems less than what it is, and frankly I am not a fan of its use, in general, for pain management when there are a number of other opioids that can be used. When I received IV fentanyl in the ER a number of times, I noticed a definite lack of euphoria for its strength, and it is often reported to be too sedating with too many side-effects even for the opiate-tolerant pain patients and recreational users. Another warning - DO NOT TAMPER WITH OR MISUSE FENTANYL PREPARATIONS IN ANY WAY. It is far too dangerous. For pain, try adding an OTC NSAID like naproxen or ibuprofen - they help more than they are given credit for.
