nice tat. i was thinki of a subtle referance to hunter in a tat im designing. cant think of wether to use tha bats or something else. could be shades or smoking aparatus i guess. i do like that tho, no subtlety but i dont think its neccassary for what you got. thats sweet, :)

best part is when depp goes tripping so fucked up to the casino that everyone are lizzars, and he tries to talk but he's so crazy he does not know what to do/think/say...
anyways it always remeber me my firsts lcd trips so fucking memorables!

Eh. Two stars, at most.

NSFW:
I just sat through all 119 minutes of this film for the first time in four years, and, for what it's worth, I experienced more fear and loathing for the duration of this movie than I have in recent memory. What a fucking chore.

This film tells, simultaneously (if one can imagine it), the saddest, most hyperbolically ridiculous, and boring(est?) story that I have ever had the unique displeasure of being told. Having read the book - which I thought was very good - I do not intend such a statement as an implicit comment on the literature by which the movie was inspired. What bothers me most about F&L isn't its rabid cult following nor the questionable lifestyle that it intends to depict, but its ill-advised emphasis on form over content. Must I really witness yet another acid-mescaline-ether-induced freakshow at the Circus?; must I, for the fourth time, view an extended shot of Benicio del Toro's violent emesis?; and does Gilliam truly believe that I require (or wish) to be further convinced of Duke's wanton depravity after a solid hour and a half of near-plotless meandering and an unintelligible, incessantly mumbling main character's innumerable fuckups? This movie could have lasted 30 minutes or less, and what would have been lost? Some mumbling, some stumbling, and...what? A handful of witty speeches, delivered in voice-over, about the stupendous failure of the 1960's counterculture and the naively egalitarian social ideals that it supposedly upheld?

I would love to say that this movie sucks, but that wouldn't entirely cut it. It is now apparent to me that this is a movie made exclusively for those who choose to identify with Hunter Thompson (or one of his hyperbolic pseudonyms) et al. and who consider scenes such as are depicted in the film to be admirable, humorous, or otherwise intrinsically estimable by some otherworldly criterion that I honestly cannot fathom. In this sense, F&L is a great example of the status that one can acquire, cult- or otherwise, by pandering to a marginal fringe audience and serving up exactly what they want - again, and again, and again - for almost two hours. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is the Evil Dead of 'drug movies.'

And lest I stoke the collective wrath of this community on the charge of brandishing unfounded opinions, I say all of this as a user and former addict of various of psychoactive drugs who is, to varying degrees, mostly saddened and repulsed by the cringe-worthy stupidity on display in this movie, and who finds himself hoping to dear christ almighty that the life of the author who inspired this material truly was exaggerated beyond reason therein.

Fear and Loathing Was A great movie of Johnny to Honer the Memories of Hunter Thompson and the journalist in Him. And I love the fact that they abused every kind of drug. Only Johnny could of brought that to the screen.
