We knew this would happen:
Exactly. My concern is that regular kratom may get caught up in this. 7-OH is a totally different beast than standard raw kratom. I'm really not in favor of total bans on any substance, but kratom itself, while not harmless, is just not comparable to 7-oh despite their chemical relationship.
Thanks for clarifying my thoughts that 7oh was a derivative of kratom. As posted freakin just heard of it.kratom legal? How the fuck is that going to work if kratom has detectable levels of 7oh

They want to schedule 7oh but keep regular kratom legal? How the fuck is that going to work if kratom has detectable levels of 7oh in it naturally?
Who the hell is running this country?
DMT is a schedule I substance. But hypothesized to exist in human brains. and like every plant specie on the planet.
Smh exactly !!!What pisses me off is how easily people lump kratom leaf and 7-OH into the same "evil" category.
It takes me back to the 60s & 70s when idiots (both public & private) declared weed, acid, heroin, and coke as basically the same thing--
"It's all dope"
I want to offer a personal perspective that I think highlights the importance of nuance in this discussion.
7-OH played a significant role in helping me transition off more dangerous opioids. In that regard, it truly was a lifesaver. However, I also want to be transparent — I quickly developed a dependence on it and found myself spending over $1,200 a month just to avoid withdrawal. It became unsustainable and, frankly, just as problematic as what I was trying to escape.
That said, I do believe 7-OH has legitimate potential in pain management and opioid harm reduction, but only when used responsibly and with full awareness of its potency. It is not the same as plain kratom leaf, and treating it as such is both misleading and dangerous.
As for traditional kratom leaf, I used it for years — even at relatively high doses — and never experienced significant withdrawals when taking breaks or stopping cold turkey. Maybe some mild fatigue or mood shifts, but nothing resembling the dependency or withdrawal profile of 7-OH or opioids.
Lumping kratom leaf and 7-OH into the same category oversimplifies a complex issue. It’s similar to how, in decades past, cannabis, LSD, and heroin were all labeled as “dope” without understanding their vastly different effects, risks, and applications.
The bottom line: context, education, and responsible use matter. Not all substances — even those derived from the same plant — are created equal, and we need to treat these conversations with the nuance they deserve.
