Favourite uncommon names?

AmorRoark said:
It's not my favorite but two of my friends from high school use to debate who originally had 'Jax' as their favorite name. It was never solved. ;)

Anyway, I think it's a pretty unique name.
I love that name!!

OK!! I have a girls name and boys name picked out! I'm waiting to announce them to my family until we know for sure which sex it is-I know too many pregnant people that I think will steal my names! lol

boy- Pacific

girl-Pangea

the last name starts with a P as well so either way the initials will be P.P. so thats what we're calling the baby until we know what sex it is lol

uhm... wow. 8o

i'm not sure about either of those, especially Pangea.

my own name is pretty 'normal', and it pisses me off having to spell it all the time cos there are two or three ways to spell it. can you imagine having to spell out the name Pangea every fucking time it's mentioned?

no offence, but i think you people are doing a disservice to your kids calling them these names. :\

middle names, by all means. but first names? noooooo!!!

I have to spell out my own name every time--especially my last name and its 11 letters plus a hyphen, you get used to it. I'd imagine all she'd have to do is say "Pangea-with an E" but we'd nick name her Gia or Pangi anyway...

Thanks for the input though ;)

p.s. if you think those first names are rough you should hear the middle names lol Ke'anae haha lucky with live in Hawai'i so everyone knows how to spell that one

heh, well if Pangea is a common name in hawaii, i guess that'll work. :D

have you ever considered an exotic foreign name like Morag or Senga for a girl? how about Shuggie or Malky for a boy?

no Pangea is not common in Hawai'i, in fact I've never heard it at all besides in the context of being the name of the first continent. Ke'anae is Hawaiian, but thats the middle name.

My problem with foreign names is that they are of no relation to me or my child. There are a lot of Japanese and other Asian names that I love, but being that I am not Asian I feel wrong giving my child a name from a culture that we have no part of.
