no ones seen Groove?

One of my favs and should be on the poll list but with all those others which are just "movies with drugs in them" I'm kind of glad it isnt.

i liked groove (and i think there's a thread floating around somewhere), but most others don't.

it *is* a little cheesy, but so's most of the rave scene in general. i still find myself watching it before a rave to get myself in a good mood a lot of the time

haha, I've never done that but I can appreciate that line of thought.

Sherry baby was a great movie about a dopehead broad from NJ. Good shit, i liked it. It was mad real.

I hate most drug movies. Havin been thru a heroin addiction I cant stand the stereotypes and cliches of almost every single drug movie out there. I dont get how ppl who really been thru it can be listing all these shitty ass cliche movies unless they dont know nothing about real addiction but thats just my opinion.

Ya 4 realz yo all those movies ain't fo' real yo.

..You could make that same argument about most movies, e.g., war movies are too poignant, comedies are too unrealistic, etc., but that's not very fun.

Finished watching Drugstore Cowboy last night, and I didn't think it was all that great. Definitely not good enough to be voted "best drug movie." I did like a few scenes, though. Like the "next time you feel like checking my math..." scene and the part where he explains all the different types of bad luck.

On the poll, I put None of the Above because A Scanner Darkly isn't on there, but I definitely enjoyed both Harold and Kumar movies (the first one was better) as well as Fear and Loathing. Reefer Madness is another classic, too.

I personally thought (although a more Gangster flick than drug-movie) that American Gangster was a fantastic movie.

But hats of to Requiem for a Dream and of course, Fear and Loathing.

Wow, I guess I'm pretty much alone when it comes to Drugstore Cowboy? It definately depends on what you mean by "drug based movie" though. Drugstore Cowboy is just so fucking awesome when it comes to narcotics..It's most about robbery/theft though. That being said, I guess Fear and loathing....it's the best all around drug movie. But then there's Trainspotting..lol I like Elastiks's list..but "Grove, spun would be at the bottom...

Wonderland is an awesome movie but I wouldn't call it a drug movie per say. Drugs aren't the main theme...a little girl's imagination is. God what a CREEPY movie when I now think of it. God that lady in the black is like a witch...but so is the girl...fuck I'm scaring myself.

I wouldn't say you're alone on Drugstore Cowboy. I think it's a terrific film, but Trainspotting might be my favorite movie of all time, so I voted for that.

Not on the list but one of my favourites: Bullit. With Tupac and Mickey Rourke. Also was wondering if it was just me who found Little Fish boring as hell? Candy was much better. Another great drug movie not on the list: Thursday. Also with Mickey Rourke...

Hackers is a very good subtle drug film...at least it seems that way on 2 drops...
