Favorite anime?

Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Hellsing, Flcl, Spirited away, Lupin 3rd Castle of cagliostro, more ghibli and some that I forgot to mention (atleast I think so :)

*virgin post*

spirited away and princess mononoke. the latter of which is even enjoyable in english since they hired the wonderful neil gaiman to write it. can anyone recommend any other miyazaki films that are must see?

ohmigod i just saw Spirited Away. how fuckin fantastic. i've never seen anything so beautiful.

but i love Akira, Legend of the Overfiend, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll and what i've seen of 3x3 Eyes was good too. mind you i havent seen all that much anime

yeah, its a shame when that happens, hellsing wasn't my favorite by any means but I did like it. Tathra: when i spoke of record of lodoss war I was referring to the OAV, although i like both!

As for recent favorites, hmmm thats a tough call, I think recently my favorites have been
Karekano for romantic drama
lain for scifi
eva for mecha
ruoroni kenshin OAV for action(or 'martial arts')
Love hina for romantic comedy
Ping pong club (comedy)

but of course there are many more that i like. I'm soon going to start watching wolf's rain, full metal panic, finish all of .hack sign/dusk, full metal alchemist, and naruto i've got them all completed, i just need to get around to watching the damn things lol

On another side note, we got any anime con goers here by any chance? if so i think it would be fuckin awesome to do one of the cons and have a lil BL meet up :)

(maybe a future awa??)

Robotech (from my younger years) and Evangelion are tied for first.

In a very close second would be Guyver. Sick ass series. 1-3 are the best.

Guyver 1 (when #1 fights #3 is kick ass)

kurve: you ever seen the guyver live action movies? bahahaha

the manga is great, but the series is really freakin long and last i knew they werent translating any more and there's a fuckload that still arent in english

Fushigii Yuugi hehe is one of my faves...But there are just so many that I can't choose. I am a big fan of Takahashi Rumiko so Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Inu Yasha, and more. There's also the Iria, Hellsing, Slayers, Record of Lodoss war,...uh GUNDAM, Samurai X aka Rurouni Kenshin, X, Trigun, Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express 999, Dominion Tank Police, El Hazard, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, Oh the list goes on I love them all and so much more.

They acctually made live action movies? That just doesn't even sound good. I can't really picture but a few animie flicks that could be pulled off as a real flick. It's been a really long time since i have seen them, or even kept up with the details of the series. That sucks they made so many of them. Kinda takes away from how kick ass the first few were imo.

kurve: its so blatently obvious that the story continues past the anime though, like with berserk, bastard!!, devil man, kare kano, etcetc (i could go on for a while). how could you be satisfied knowing that there is so much more to the story that you will never know?!
