Fantasy Premier League 08/09 bluelight league

I might have a go at this this year. Never done it before, but wouldn't it be wise to wait until all the summer transfers are over before I pick a team?
 
its alrite, you can have unlimited free transfers up until the first game of the season so you can pick a team now then change it as much as you want once transfers are made and stuff
 
i think i lasted through about 8 fixtures last year before i just couldn't keep up. (i'm american - i don't follow it as religiously as most you folks since it's not 24/7 for us, but i try)

but i'll give it a whirl again this year. team name is "nemesis fc".
 
^^ indeed, and i do get that channel...just so many games to keep up with! :) (and espn doesn't give me updates and stats, and fox soccer is pathetic sports-talk.)
 
anyone wanna give us a sneak preview of their team, i know i do even though people may steal my player ideas i dont care, i just think i have a great team:D

Goalkeepers - Howard(Everton) and Schwarzer(Fulham)

Defenders - Evra(ManU), Boswinga(Chelski), Emerton(Blackburn), Dawson(Spurs), Meite(Bolton)

Midfielders - Cole(Chelski), Diarra(Pompey), Modric(Spurs), Geovanni(Hull), Lawrence(Stoke)

Strikers - Torres(Liverpool), Adebayor(Arsenal), Defoe(Pompey)

I will probably have to change things before the season starts with transfers and all that but i think thats a pretty decent team for now, Cant believe how expensive Ronaldo is at 14mil. I will probably have to bring him in later in the season though at the expense of one of my 3 top class strikers, well thats if he stays at ManU.
 
I took the crown a few years back...may be time to try and recapture the glory.
 
At the moment, although this might change, my team selection is:

Keepers: James (Portsmouth); Schwarzer (Fulham)

Defenders: Lescott (Everton); Dunne (Man City); Scharner (Wigan); Wheater (Middlesborough); McShane (Sunderland)

Midfielders: Fabregas (Arsenal); Bentley (Blackburn); Bullard (Fulham); Barry (Villa); Hamaan (Man City)

Forwards: Torres (Liverpool); Santa Cruz (Blackburn); Windass (Hull City)

It feels a bit strange to have players from 12 clubs in my 15 players... usually I'm more concentrated in a few teams... and strangely, no Man U players yet... would usually pick Ronaldo, but he may miss the start of the season due to his ankle surgery - but yeah, I'll likely bring him in later in the season too :)
 
my team is as follows, most likely to be changed.

GK - howard (eve), kirkland (wig)
D - johnson (ports), scharner (wig), distin (ports), terry (chels), meite (bolt)
MF - ronaldo (man u), dempsey (ful), barry (a villa), mullins (w ham), hamman (man c)
F - torres (liv), yakubu (eve), harewood (a villa)

i usually always pick van der sar as my #1 keeper and that could change, but i usually always have howard up there too, you know - american and all. %) and then went with someone completely different as my second.

strange to me to not have the full limit of man u players, and ronaldo was a pretty penny indeed, leaving me not much room for lots of other top players.

was surprised at the number of chelsea players that were low(er) in points, but still very high value. *cough*drogba??*cough*
 
drogba had a shit season last year... picked up quite a few injuries...

But he could rebound in quite a good way this season...

got pretty easy fixtures so quite a bit, i feel should stay solid with some clean sheets early on then worthy of a switch.
