extremely irritable

side note... Miles was a wife-beater and, generally, regarded as a complete asshole AFTER the opiates too. A great trumpet player though. No hijack intended. Back to business.;)

^^^^Please forgive me for bringing in that myth, we all know he would of beat his wife regardless, its shamefull for me in particular to add to the lies and demonization of heroin. I retract what i said regarding the musician, apologies.......

all of the opiates i've tried make me really irritable, even though i feel relaxed. i also get so contrary that i'll just disagree with anything anyone says. i don't think it depends on the type of opiate although i guess it's different

it seems like opiates should cause people to let everything roll right off them and stimulants should make everyone super sensitive, but that hasn't been my experience.

^do yo believe heroin shouldnt be demonized and that it has gotten a bad rap????
hell yes heroin has got one of the worst bad wraps instilled upon it, out of pure ignorance.

back to main topic. Hydro and especially OC, make me one irritable piece of shit. heroin, morphine, and fentanyl never give me those problems....they set me in ice and turn me into one apathetic lsmiling oving fuck.

wow very weird, until i read this thread, i thought i was the only the person in the world who had "oxy-rages"....

the best way i can describe it, is like what people always said steriods can do....when i am on oxycodone, i am VERY irratable and am a complete asshole. Little things like a radio being too loud, someone leaving something at the house, forgeting a lighter, etc. will push me into a rage....its not like i attack people and go around crazy like godzilla, but i definately go into a bitchy zone where anything and everything can and DOES bother me.

it is very strange, because i am very opiate experienced, and oxycodone is THE only opiate that does this to me. hydrocodone has the complete opposite effect. my girlfriend can even tell when i am on hydro or something else as i will be mostly sedated and in a calm tranquil mood.

i guess oxycodone has a pretty stimulating effect on me, because it makes me very aggressive too. i have nearly gotten in 2 fights(with strangers) in the past couple of weeks while on oxycodone because i am so aggressive. something that i would normally brush off, will instead get me all pumped up and angry.

Oxy is very stimulating. Some say hydro is more sedating, but I just find it "less stimulating", compared to oxy. I think irritability is common with just about any opiate, although these types of drugs make me a very content person, sans Morphine.

God yes. I'll be untouchable for the first part of a trip, but after that I get tired of people and annoyed REALLY quickly.

quote from Negrogesic:

Non-stimulating precursors such as thebaine DOES affect the irritability of the high, but it occurs with almost most all mu-agonists. Miles Davis was a hardcore heroin users a a notorious wife beater.

while i agree w/ you not wanting to further demonize opiate/oids, it is quite true...and yes Miles was a prick no matter what, BUT..could it have just been caused by the years of abuse???..i mean do we really know what he was like before he was a junkster????...the shit can just turn people into pricks(i know, work w/ a few:\ )..i get it from time to time too...another famous prick whos attitude was prob affected by this was Kurt Cobain, fits of rage the man had...like the whole jumping into the drums thing..it actually started as an attempt to injure the orig. drummer, Chad...also his attitude during interviews and whatever...i think it may exrebate(sp.?) underlying anger issues...who knows...this was quite off topic, but music is my thing, and i enjoy talked of musicians that were or are on drugs..and how it affects/ed them...yeah...sorry just coming up now...not making much sense, am I???8(
