ok, back on the baby pagent topic...
*another wonderful anedote from the Bloss vaults*
when i was 3 or 4 (mayeb 3.5 anyway i was still in canberra at the time) i *chose* to be in a child pagent. i was in a shopping centre with my mum, and a lady asked me if i wanted to be in a pagent. My mum dint want me to do it at all. But show off Baby Bloss deceided that "no mum, im doing it" and i did it.
It wasnt one with all the make up and curlers and crazy shit like i saw in a documentary i watched about the whacked out ones in america with girls who wear more makeup than i do for ballet, and basically about *paretns living through their kids*, where they are more concerned with *their daughters* winning them expensive sports cars, and novelty cheques...
it was a humble little bit of fun in a shopping centre.
AND i *LOVED* IT.
always the performer, i got up there, sang baa baa black sheep whilst wearing a pretty dress and just smiled my guts out because i was having so much fun.
^i think experiences like these are fine. If not character building, i mean, that was my first taste of being *on a real stage* (be it in a shopping centre, but still a *real stage*) and i think ive been set on being a performer ever since. Its just when things get taken to the extreme that it can be seen as a bad thing...
...But that documentary, i cant remember what it was, but it truly disgusted me.
However, Beauty pagents are like anything in life.... There is always too far.
