Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health, and Addiction vs. I worked all that out

Rest Day today and will max my workout tomorrow. Need to introduce different types of exercises to my body tomorrow.

Maxed out on barbell squat last night. Was intense, but I'm feeling some back discomfort today. Could just have slept wrong, who knows. But I just need to remind myself that maxing out on squat isn't a good idea for this very reason. Would go to the chiropractor, but I'm a broke drug addict with no money or health insurance, so the pain shall continue.

Lifted chest and triceps this morning just after the sun came up. The show goes on.

Also read leader you need to get on the government health care website because all the health care stuff changed and you will most likely be eligible for free health care.. pluss if you dont get health care soon you will be fined.. only takes a second now that it works and you could have free or really cheap health care in a few days..

I ate so much again last night lol so I have to work really hare in the gym today and get rid of the carbs from last night

For all of you that do a lot of working out do you have any beginning recommendations for someone who cannot afford a gym membership? Between depression and focusing all of my energies on my son I have really let myself go and I need to get this shit under control. A friend had suggested following an online workout but I only have limited access on my phone. I also have very limited funds and a newly busy schedule so the gym isn't an option either.
I have a sick stroller for walks if the weather ever warms up..but I definitely require more than walking to get to a point where I'm happy with myself.

^I would say you can start with a 10-15 min jogging out side of your house if possible and a few squats and situps to start. If you are not used to running you can do fast walking added with squats and situps or you can do jogging/fast walking for day 1 and do the other exercises without cardio for day two. You dont want to over do it as you are just starting.

There's a 7 minute workout that was posted in Healthy Living a few weeks ago and this might workout for you:

Thanks. :) The jogging/fast walking won't be possible until the weather warms up. This winter has been brutal and my little man has been sick quite often. Just last weekend I had to take him to the ER for IV fluids.
The workout you sent me will definitely easily fit into my schedule and should have me warmed up for outdoor activities when the weather is better. Thanks. :)

alright back to the gym.. run, back and shoulders..

I may need to adjust my workout as I'm getting really big.. just weighed myself and im tipping more than 250 lbs or 114 kg.. this is 50 more pounds than when I was sick and in active addiction.. so i've been loosing the love handles but putting on allot of muscles.. also since I was never a runner but hockey, ski, kayak, ropeless climber and hiker, golfer, tennis, I dont think I have ever been able to jog like I do now.. i can now log until my legs get tired or the cows come home.. its kinda cool reaching this point.

Hope everyone has a great workout today!!

Rest day today and tomorrow as I did so much workout yesterday and my legs are jelly plus I have an appointment tomorrow after work so there's no way I am going to go back to my workplace to go to the gym. The new gym is open and it was beautiful and i can't wait to use the facility.

I went in a little harder than i planned, lifted legs, biceps, shoulders, and back.. no run.. I got there right at rush hour which was good for eye candy but bad because of all the treads I use were booked up solid and it was general mayhem.. but good work out though.

Your energy will improve drastically in a short time from getting exercise.. the first few weeks are a little rough, but even with being sore you mind will feal great if you include the cardio. In a few weeks you will be like damn I can see and feal differences already. Then after a few months it just becomes part of your routine and you will notice you kinda feel a little drive to get to the gym and feel a little shabby if you dont. Just take it slow in the begining and slowly ramp it up. So I guess just say no matter what your working out four days a week for a month.. after a little bit it just becomes something you want to do. Maybe get a new pair of athletic shoes and new gym bag and start drawing up a workout schedule.. just take it slow at first.

Good work out today, little warm up then 3x6 with heavy weights on bench, incline, decline, 2x10 close grip, 3x30 flies, 2x30 incline flies, 3x10 cable split rope tri pull down, 2x 10 isolated tri cable extension. =D

I would probably start by doing push ups and curls and benching (i have two 25lb dumbells). Don't have money for a gym membership ATM.
How long (like in hours) do i do it per day?
Im hoping to start this weekend, just hope my family doesn't think im weird for starting to exercise.. screw what they think though, they're all lazy. I'll just tell them it's good for me and helps me recover from the abuse i had put my body through from drugs, plus gives me something to do.

I weigh 200lbs (well 195 but ill call it 200) and im not fat, im 5'9" and muscular naturally for some reason.
Only thing that bothers me is my "moobs" lol, side effect from a medication i was on for 6 years. They are muscle cuz i can flex them, but they dont look right lol, how can i use what i have for weights for that issue?lol.

Sorry im a noob to weight lifting.

Thanks for all the advice and info.

Cant wait to go back tomorrow! I always feel yucky when I don't exercise even if it's two days that I haven't. I think i mentioned that our workplace has a new gym and there's sauna wohoo!!! I want to workout and get into the sauna after. I will try to remember to take pics and post because I am so happy that it is a beautiful facility with very modernized equipment and an instructor!!

I used a free personal trainer session today that 24/h fitness had given me for joining. It was pretty cool, listed out and demonstrated some exercises for me to do based on my goals and sport interests, and made sure I knew how to do them all with proper form before letting me go. =D

Apparently while just starting out I can make gains way more quickly doing isometric holds as well as using slightly lighter weights with much slower reps. Makes sense though, that doing so will activate more muscle fibers then quick reps with heavy weights. Anyway I'm happy to have some idea of what to do next time I hit the gym... This is my first ever gym membership lmao

depending on where you are located there are usuually places that give out free two week or month trial memberships.. you can always look into this. There are allot of things you can get started on with the 25 lbs dumbells.. and i can throw down some links soon.

as far as the moobs.. yeah I wouldn't worry to much about this.. Heavy opiate use, heavy grass use, and other medications can cause either testosterone level to plummet or estrogen level to increase and i dont know if changes are permanent but I doubt it. But this is not necessarily the root of this.. its really common for males to naturally form fat deposits in this area.. so getting on some cardio, some chest lifting, and a healthy diet should greatly reduce/ or even eliminate this. at points in my life i have had fat deposits there that made me feal uncomfortable without a shirt or sometimes even wearing certain shirts, but what i was self conscious about is now gone with under three months of working out. it really goes pretty quickly. I think it common in men with our builds and a little extra weight hanging around. One other thing is you may wish to get your testosterone levels checked to see if they are normal.. as you seem to have a longer case of the PAWS kicking this may be an underlying cause.

But yeah just start slow and keep at it and you will be amazed.. I am=D

Off to the gym.. core and running today.. not my favorite day.. but charge!!
