Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health, and Addiction vs. I worked all that out

I used a free personal trainer session today that 24/h fitness had given me for joining. It was pretty cool, listed out and demonstrated some exercises for me to do based on my goals and sport interests, and made sure I knew how to do them all with proper form before letting me go. =D

Apparently while just starting out I can make gains way more quickly doing isometric holds as well as using slightly lighter weights with much slower reps. Makes sense though, that doing so will activate more muscle fibers then quick reps with heavy weights. Anyway I'm happy to have some idea of what to do next time I hit the gym... This is my first ever gym membership lmao

Hahaha I have never been a member of any other expensive gyms like fitness world etc or Gold's gym here in Canada and I dont know if I will ever sign up if I didn't have a company gym. I pay 25 bucks a month with my company gym membership which is a heck of an awesome deal compared to regular gym memberships with a brand new facility.

I did 15 min Nike abs training 15 min spinning and 15 min in the sauna and I cant wait to go back tomorrow. I have a gym partner now so it makes it much better and more fun.
 
1 set of bear crawls , and drank only half as much coffee as usual (no coffee tomorrow...)

Regardless, just got home from working out. I still feel a little lost when I get to the gym haha - I've now been to a real gym to work out 3 times in my life, and counting. :p
 
What about looking online for a used dvd for yoga or pilates? There is also a great workout called walk away the pounds. I know it sounds like it wouldn't work, but when I was really out of shape I started with those and lost 40 pounds!

Even the library has free rentals!
 
For all of you that do a lot of working out do you have any beginning recommendations for someone who cannot afford a gym membership? Between depression and focusing all of my energies on my son I have really let myself go and I need to get this shit under control. A friend had suggested following an online workout but I only have limited access on my phone. I also have very limited funds and a newly busy schedule so the gym isn't an option either.
I have a sick stroller for walks if the weather ever warms up..but I definitely require more than walking to get to a point where I'm happy with myself.
Some friends can get you into their gym in an apartment complex? Always worth looking into.

Unfortunately I had to do overtime work today and I'm just on my wsy home atm so I wasn't able to go tonight. Tomorrow I prommy!!

Never underestimate walking! I lost a lot of weight after I had kids from taking mega walks (at least 1 hour and walking at a good clip with lots of hills). Aside from that, the library where I live has fitness videos/dvd you can borrow.
 
Changes in diet even without exercising can yield very good results. Count your calories on an average day and then proceed forward with about 75-80% of that on a daily basis. You will slim down. People overcomplicate dieting like crazy. It always comes back to calories and being in a slight caloric deficit to lose weight. All of the insane stuff (pills, crazy cardio, strange eating patterns, etc) really only become important when you're looking at single-digit bodyfat.

I'm supposed to start exercising today.. but really don't feel to into it ATM. Might be cuz i just woke up and my back hurts. I promise you guys tho, i will at least get some pushups or curls today.. donno how many but will let you know after i do em. :)

Here are more pics as promised. I am really proud of it and happy that we have a new facility, the old gym is becoming too small for 160 members and I also got a new gym bag as a consolation for signing up! Now, after work I get more excited to go to the gym knowing that I can pamper myself from the brand new equipment and sauna

I plan to go again today but my body is sore so we'll see how it goes.
 
Sorry guys, let you down.. didn't do the workout i was planning on and promised i would do. been in wds, i guess it woulda helped but couldn't get the energy to do so.. i shoulda went for a run, it was nice out today and i had RLS.

oh well, someday ill be into it.
 
Good job addy!

I went to the gym today not realizing that I forgot to bring some of my gym stuff so I used this black top I have in my gym bag and my jogging pants lol. Did weights and cardio today
