Everyone come together and pray for PhreeX

I'm sorry to have been away from the board for so long. I had no idea any of this had happened. I don't know PhreeX personally, or even cyberly (is that a word?), but I have a world of respect for him and the wealth of knowledge he shares with us all. I know many BLers (GLers especially) have caught a lot of flak from him enforcing the board guidelines, but I have yet to see him act unfairly. I am happy he is recovering and patiently await his return. Get well soon.
Best Wishes,
~Odie

I never new Phreex, Dave, but I did appreciate all of his posts. He has great knowledge and we all need to get him back. Everybody lets come together and get Phreex back here so we can have his knowledge to hedlp people out
God be with you Phreex

Something keeps bringing me back to this thread, even though I officially left this board nearly a year ago to deal with my own string of tragedies.
After losing both my child and my husband, I prayed that Death would take me too... reading this thread and all of its replies has given me a perspective I hadn't had before.
I am not so sure I believe in God, and yet I'm praying for Dave nonetheless. Not because he's the IV drug king and the Other Drugs hero, but because he's an extremely intelligent, (possibly too smart for his own good), caring, and decent human being. To be blunt: I couldn't stand PhreeX, his online persona, but his true self turned out to be a dear friend.
Ashlie, I understand your pain and fear all too well, and while I had issues with David in the past when he whisked my husband away to do god knows what, I never held a grudge. I'm praying for him, for you, and for your entire family for his recovery.
One thing I know for certain about your brother is that he is one stubborn sonofabitch... if anyone could come out of this virtually unscathed, it will be him.
...and yes, when he returns, we'll all catch hell for wasting bandwidth on this subject. :)
Melissa

Blessings to Phreex and each and every one of you.
*sends positive vibes*
I thought this was bullshit when it was posted in the Lounge. omfg.
None of us are invincible, no matter how much abuse we think our bodies can take.
:(
Get well soon Phreex!

Hopefully Dave will push through this latest setback just like all the others.
Stay Strong!

I spoke to the doctor and the trachiotamy (sp). Isn't being done because he has regressed. They are doing it because he hasn't been using his own muscles to breath for almost 2 weeks. So they were getting tired causing him to struggle. He just need a little assistance until he is back into tiptop shape.
I did speak to him dad, and he said Dave did ok and he is doing well tonight. I will post another update after i visit him tomorrow.

Hey - I just wanted to let you know that I saw David-and although he has the trache, he's doing just as good as before. He's trying to talk, he's moving his legs more, and he knows who everyone is. He's even getting a little "fiesty" with having to be in bed 24/7. So -we're happy!!!! Thanks to all of you again- I have mad work to do so I must go. Keep Prayin-IT'S WORKIN'!!
Love,
Ashlie

I've been following this thread for a while but decided not to post until he was better. I'm an optimist, so I knew that I'd be posting later on.
Congrats Dave on getting through all this. Hope to see you online again soon. Hope everything's going better, if you read this.

Venus who knew some Telepopmusik would fit so well. Im glad Dave is fighting through his trauma.

This is wonderful news. I cant believe just days ago they were about to pull the plug on him, and now hes communicating and moving. Im still hoping for a full recovery for him. Imagine if he ever gets well enough to read this how odd it would be to read.
Thanks for the updates!

What saddens me even more than wanting to "pull the plug" so quickly, is that the hospital wanted to declare him DOA & not even admit him, even though he had a heartbeat & some brain activity. Except for the insistence of his family they would not have even admitted him!

I feel guilty jumping in this late...I finally put my thoughts together and I realized that as a bluelighter I needed to say something to show my support for PhreeX and his family as well as his friends here who I'm sure are going through a very stressful time.
Lately I've lost a lot of faith in God as well as my family because such terrible things were happening. The only time I prayed was for forgiveness or when I was having an anxiety attack. However, when this happened to PhreeX I began praying very frequently and I have honestly begun to gain some of my faith back. It sounds so corny, but I truly believe that all the prayers everyone has been saying and all the thoughtful and supportive posts on here have fueled Dave's recovery. I think it's in the cards for Dave to recover as well as he can and come out of this a stronger person who will live to grow a happy old man who can tell his grandchildren about how he used to work at this website called bluelight and how he helped so many people. Dave's family seems to be putting all their love into this and I'm so happy to see that. It's sad to see someone who faces a drug problem with no one behind them. I've known people who in their struggle with drugs have been shunned by their family and friends.
All right, enough of my babbling. I'm going to keep Dave and his family in my prayers. If it's possible, please keep us updated as often as you can Ashlie or anyone else that visits Dave.
When I wake up in the morning and read that Dave is blinking or trying to speak it really makes my day a lot better. I sound like I'm talking such BS right now but I mean every word of it. I would say keep your fingers crossed but don't rely on fate-- believe in God. : )
Also, I know it's somewhere's in this massive thread, but if Dave's family is accepting donations to help pay for hospital bills or even to help the family out or something, I would love to help out in some way. So if this is this case, can someone post an address or a way to contact the family. I'm done now lol.
All my love ~Julie

Its good to hear that Dave is back on the up and up. That whole cessation of breathing/tracheotomy thing had me worried.
Yay!
