ashlie thank you so much for the awesome news... i had almost lost hope in this, but the fact that dave has obviously kept his memory in one piec is simply fantastic, that must mean that brain damage was very limited, if any at all (which i still pray for there not to be)...
i'm sorry to hear of the tracheoctomy, but you don't come back from near-death without a glitch up here or there...
keep on going Dave, all my thoughts are with you...
Frank.

I pray for PhreeX's return to full health... Keep healing Dave... Everything's gonna be all right.

This is downright WONDERFUL! It's amazing, how in just 10 days, Dave has gone from on the verge of death, to being very much alive! Now I'm no longer praying for him to live, I'm praying for him to get out of the hospital quickly! It's amazing, it's restored some of my faith that prayers really do work.

I've cried everyday since I heard of this.
And then Sputnic passed.
Two people I knew well in the online world... I was so saddened. I was sure Dave wouldn't make it, Fentanyl & Oxy is a heavy mix regardless of the dose.
I cried myself to sleep last night out on the porch after I heard he had stopped breathing again.
I check this thread daily immediately when I wake up.
Thank you everybody for the updates...
...and Dave WHEN you get back here I want to hear some funny ass jokes about you trying to get those hot young nurses to take a sponge bath WITH you. ;-)
Love and light
john

I hadn't checked this thread in a while, so I was fearing the worst when I opened it, but it's so heartening to hear that he's doing so much better. I don't know PhreeX, even online, but I just wanted to hopefully give some support for him and his family, even if it's in an extremely small way such as this.

flower sweetie, my heart goes out to you too. may God be with you through this terrible time, i'm very new to the bluelight community and hardly know ya ... but being part of the community means that we share the good times as well as the bad, and if that means anything ... i pray for you, dave, ashlie and the rest of dave's family that all of you will find strength to deal with what lies ahead.
life sucks and shit happens, but at the end of the day there're always friends who care and sometimes, it really does make a difference :)
much love and peace to everyone who's going through a hard time in their lives now *huggz*

Glad things are on the upswing again. Haven't posted much but have been following the thread. Sending in my good vibes.

It's great to hear he's doing better.
Though I was never close to him, I've read his posts, and I was a member of ODU. I hope he pulls through, for the sake of his family and all those close to him.

I like PhreeX. Once upon a time, PhreeX's injection guide helped me IV more safely. His posts have often been funny, interesting, and informative.

It seemed like if any of us could make it through unscathed, it would be him. PhreeX always said the drugs aren't the problem... such a harsh rule. Daring boy, but it is why I admire him.

I do not know PhreeX/Dave, but he has been in my thoughts since I first heard of what happened. I am very happy that he is doing better. I'm only 22 years old and I have lost more than my share of friends to situations similar to Dave's. I really feel for all those who have been touched by Dave whether through the internet or in real life - and I feel for Dave himself.

I wish I could do something to help - I'd send flowers or a card, but I feel a little strange doing so because I don't know him personally - just through his posts on this site.

If anyone needs someone to talk to - you are more than welcome to IM or e-mail me. I would be more than happy to be there to talk, or to just listen.

PhreeX/Dave - even though we've never met, you have been in my thoughts. I wish you and your family all the best. I hope that when you're feeling better I'll get the chance to talk to you :)

if you want to send a card, feel free. he and his family will appreciate it.

i wouldn't send flowers though, dave isn't a fan of them. plus, for some reason i don' t think the hospital allows it.

whats the current news?

anyhow. wow. someone i never met, yet learned so much from. i just dont even know what to say.

:( :( :(

heh, ok i posted before i read the last page.

GREAT TO HEAR HES FIGHTING THRU IT!!

GO DAVE!

where can we send cards?

Wow...........

I just read this thread from top to bottom. All 21 pages. I can't say that I could of thought of anything better to do with my time tonight. It was very captivating. I was filled with sorrow, filled with joy, then shock and back to joy. It was quite the rollercoaster and I hope it's come to an end.

To Dave.............

I must say that you're a lucky guy. Not only to be getting a second chance at life but, because you have so many people that really care for you. This is straight from the heart from someone you've never talked to or met. Dave I wish you the best with your recovery. :) -Swoosh

OMG. WTF happened? I'm a little shaky. I never knew him personally but I have always read his posts. I hope he pulls through...God. Good luck PhreeX

yes, where can we send cards

Yeah, I'd would really like to send a card as well...but I have no idea where to send it. If someone knows the address, would it be possible to e-mail it to me? I would really appreciate it.

Someone should take a lap top to the hospital so he can read all of this, the power of all the posts would surely give him the energy to get better.

Get well Dave. I know you'll pull through.
