Everyone come together and pray for PhreeX

remember reading some where in the board about phreex posting info/advice, only reason i remember his name(vaguely) is because he made an impression with his words. he is no doubt a person loved by many, and will be severely missed by friends and strangers.
Buddha will have mercy on your soul.

^^ i talked to samantha a couple hours ago, she was going to see him soon. no news yet

i just talked with samantha about an hour ago. the news isn't good.
"the doc said it is not likely at all he will wake up and if he does there will be extensive brain damage. his family is going to give him another brain scan before they make a decision"
-from samantha's away message.

Everyone we really need to come together now being the next 24 hours are going to be the most critical lets pray that if we ever in our life can receive a miracle now would be one of those times. Dave I hope and pray you know how many people are here for you right now and want you to make it. You are truly loved and would be severly missed if you don't pull through.
"If you should go before me my friend ask God if you can bring a friend."

Not even a line of prose from the famous shakespeare, or leonardo's best artwork or mozarts best symphony or any words can explain the emotion contained within this post.
"Success is never final and failure never fatal. It's courage that counts..."
Much love to a great man who I don't know...
At this point there is only one outcome - that which is setforth by god and fate alike.

I wish Dave, a.k.a. Phreex, the finest. I only had the opportunity to talk with him on a few occasions, but I had always lurked and not only read his widom, but anaylzed it. PhreeX was a true literary scholar and I wish my most blessed thoughts upon him. I only wish I could gain the poetic aptitude he disseminated. I only wish I could gain the scholastic genius he possessed.
PhreeX, I have been a cult-follower of you for years and I can't express the loss that we all feel.
Dave, we pray for your recovery.
- Jeff

I've been thinking about this guy (who I've never met or really interacted with, and who wouldn't know me from shit) a lot since I came across this post - I guess what I want to try to do here is offer some genuine hope.
Before that, tho, as has been said by others, it comes down to "God"/the ultimate power/fate as to what happens next, and whatever does happen will happen for a reason that will ultimately be for the best. Some cultures celebrate death - personally I often feel (and from what I've seen of Phreex's posts he seems a similar spirit) like something with the capacity for boundless feelings/acts of love and beauty trapped, beyond my control, in the flawed 'human' state. I have a gut feeling that "death" will simply be an evolution towards the higher state I know lies within me and within everyone, and I for one would be pissed off if my friends didn't find some respite from their natural grief to celebrate when it happens to me. That may be inappropriate, but today's been one of those days where everything has just fallen into place, and I guess I have faith that whatever comes out here is for good reason too.
Anyway, the hope thing - a few years ago I (intentionally) took an overdose that it is virtually impossible an elephant, let alone a human, could live through. I was on life support in a coma for three days, the doctors wrote me off and advised my father to let them pull the plug, cos I wasn't going to come out of it and even if I did I'd be forever fucked. (Sound familiar?) My heart stopped (for how long I'm unsure - I think the best part of a minute) and started again without any medical intervention. My one memory of a very traumatic awakening was a doctor saying "you're a very lucky young man, because I don't think it was any of us that saved you in there".
I could go into all of the psychological shit this evoked, but it's not appropriate here and (I think) has already been done elsewhere. I just wanted to post this as living proof that someone who has been where Phreex (Dave) is right now has made it back against all odds and for whatever reason. That is the way it was meant to be, and I spend a lot of time wondering what the fuck it is I'm supposed to be doing here - whatever happens to Phreex (remembering that the 'impossible' isn't and that death is not the end of the energy and consciousness that he embodies) will be what is meant to happen.
...and I honestly hope and pray that whatever the outcome, he finds it infinitely more tolerable than the circumstances that lead to this happening to him in the first place.
Good luck, buddy.. and if (when, hopefully) you read this, I hope we can compare notes :)
[edit: just fixed a reference to PhreeX where I inadvertently spoke of him in the past tense.. sorry!]

I've only been away from blueligh one week and I come back to this.
This is truley tragic :( I hope phreex pulls through.

I am not one who is usually at a loss for words, but I just haven't been able to express myself about this yet.
D4N, thank for watching after the forum right now... I honestly get sick to my stomach looking at the board right now. This is hanging heavy on me right now as I know it is many of you...
From day to day I find myself going through bouts of being sad, angry, nauseous, depressed, hopeful... as well as a bunch of other disconnected emotons. I am prefering to keep myself somewhat low profile for at least a little while.
Dave... I want you back here. You're too young for this... too smart for this... too great for this.
I am looking out my window right at a beautifuly sunny saturday morning here in New England. The sun is out like it hasn't been in weeks, melting the snow as it reveals hints of the spring. One phrase comes to mind that was the mantra of a very good friend of mine:
"Live for the warmth, bro... LIVE for the warmth."
Your friend,
Sebastian

Everytime I check back to see the post count has grown, I always hope it's good news.
I never knew him, but I wish his family peace and comfort during this time.
God bless.

As you all know, Phreex is not doing so well. I am his little sister, Ashlie. My family and I would like to thank you guys for all of your unconditional support and love. Your letters of encouragement were read to him the other day, I really hope he heard how many people really care about him and love him. I know it means the world to my family and me. David is not making any progress yet, but we are still hoping for the best. We are waiting until Monday for another EEG (brain scan) - hopefully it will show some signs of improvment. If any of you have any of David's old posts, old work, memories...anything to share with my family and I - we would love the hear the stories- as we were not able to get to know him as well as you guys have. We are still pulling and praying for him...I just wanted you guys to know that your support means a lot to us...and Thank You- from the bottom of our hearts
- Ashlie ( Phreex's lil sister)
