Samantha are you the same samantha that sent me my.... What was it? male enhancement device? Or something creative like that... I can't remember. Obviously thats not what was inside, but it was creative.

Also, everyone must know that HE would have been the FIRST to say don't blame the drugs. Know that we can't blame the drugs. We can blame the user, society, and the government (for their lies). We can thank the educators like Dave, bluelight, dancesafe, and other support programs.
I see alot of people saying that any drugs use is bad/illegal/harmful. As much as you people know about drugs I know that they aren't as safe as you would like to believe.
I know that there is a difference between using and abusing, but it is a fine line. Just because you are using moderatly dosen't mean that you can't/won't suffer some negative effects.
If you are ABUSING drugs know that you aren't only harming yourself, but your family and friends. I have several people in my life that I worry about on a daily basis. I even begin to hate them for their self destructive behavior. It is much easier to hate them for their choices than to accept that they are slowly killing themselves.
Addiction is a disease, but you cannot help someone who dosen't want to help themselves. (I've been dealing with that all my life).
I know this message might not go over smoothly. But it needs to be said. I have been dealing with addicts/drug abusers since I was 6-7 yrs old. They don't change unless they want to. I know lots of people who use/abuse drugs. I stopped using because I couldn't handle shit like this (od's, depression, etc.).
Just remember, it can happen to anyone, it can happen under any circumstance, it can happen no matter what the drug, or how much of it.
Please know that there are people who care. People who have been thru what some of you are going thru. People who have made dramatic changes in their life because they saw the error of their ways.
* I am saying drug use has negative effects.
* I am not saying everyone will experience these effects.
If you need help or wish just to talk dont hesitate to ask me. Thru all my life crap I have learned much, and wish to share.
Please BE SAFE. I know I cannot stop anyone from using, but please take care of yourselves.

I'd like to ask a few questions, Ashlie, if I may, they have been playing on my mind.. obviously you are under no obligation to answer and that would be totally understandable. Just ignore me if you deem this inappropriate.
Has he talked yet? If not, then i guess, have you communicated with him.. by say... a system of blinks, or nodding/shaking his head..?
Also you say he is mostly paralysed.. what can he move?
And last, you should let him know that there is a thread on Bluelight for him wishing him well with 400 posts, if he doesn't already know. Assuming he remembers what bluelight is, i'd say that would give him strength.

Before I go to bed -i just wanted to let you know today the neurologist visited David and tested his mind. David responded to questions by blinking. He can move his feet and arms, also. My mother asked him before she left...if he was "Happy to be here"....He blinked once for "yes" . Hopefully, this is true. If anyone of his friends like Sam or Mandy or Dominic or anyone wants to visit him...he would love to see you. I think he's gettin' a lil sick of me and mom. He doesn't mind his young, blonde nurse though-typical! Anyway, just thought I'd end the day w/ more good news.

OMG! I am SO HAPPY to hear that!!!! I'm almost in tears the 1st chance I get I'm heading that way Ashlieeeeeee!!! Thank God and all of the BLs who stood by him and his family the whole way!!! Trust me even though he's heard it I will tell him again about all the wonderful things y'all had to say!! TY BLs!!!

I havent been on bluelight for quite a while now and when i read this thread i was stunned, shocked.
I have never met Dave nor have i chatted directly with him, But his advice and knowledge have probably saved both mine and several of my friends lives too. It is amazing that someone i have never met, that doesnt even know who i am, who lives on the oppisite side of the world to me could have such an impact on my life. I had no idea that his situation would have the effect it has had on me.
Its so great to hear that he is on the mend. Any improvement would have been great after the state he begun in but to improve to the point where he can interact with someone, even if it is poking out a tongue, is simply amazing.
To daves family; know that without your constant love and support his recovery would not have been possible, for that i'm sure he (as would most other people) will be eternally greatful. My thoughts are with you.
To dave; I am sure that you have the strength of will to continue to improve. All I can offer is my thoughts and my prayers, along with the hundreds of others that are doing the same.

and my other question... even though he is responding to your questions, is it possible he really doesn't have any memories? i mean, does he know who you are and why he is there and all?

Please re-read my post- I was stating that people like 5-HT2 should NOT drag this thread off topic. I've been posting comments all along about my experiences with someone that was in a very similar situation. Don't just make snap decisions about me because you mis-interpreted my post.
My thoughts have been with your brother since I read the first post- and I have continued to come back to this thread to see if I could provide any substance from my experience- but at this point I can't because my friend never regained any brain activity- and I am happy to hear Dave has.

UPDATE:
Just got back from the hosptial and dave is doing much much better. He is breathing on his own w/o the respirator. He can move his arms and legs and understand who is there. He is trying to talk but still has a feeding tube. His mother asked him if he needed anything and he shook his head no. He has pneumonia, but is being treated for it. All is looking good, he is still not 100% so everyone keep the hope and prayers coming so this miracle doesnt end.

E-girl- We are located in central Florida. He did not verify it, but when I was there I felt as tho he knew who I was.
I want to thank everyone for all their support. I could not have made it as stable as I seemed without you guys here. Thanks a lot. I also truly believe that we had some effect on Dave's waking up. Thank you all very much.
