wow!!1 what an unbelieavable pulll off the turks did today at 122mins, now my team is out I'm cheering for Netherlands, cause imo it has shown the best soccer so far, though Russia won't be asy, I really like Zhirkov's defense and Akinfeev is getting better and they have Ashavin on the squad too now, so that'll be an interesting match, hope Netherlands pulls at least 3 goals.
As for Turkey m aybe they didn't deserve it in some people's opinion, but it goes to shpow, like Villa's 93th minute goal against Sweden.
Now Spain vs. Italy will be an interesting match, I live in Argentina where it's full of italians and spanish descendants, but the italians are the ones who remained more true to their origins and influenced Argentina a lot, even the accent we speak spanish with sounds like if we weere speasking italian, and there's even an Argentine player on Italy's squad, yeah, Mauro Camoranessi used to play here at a lousy team, he always speaks to the Argentine media after matches and he sounds-looks 100% argentine, so people here always cheer for them when Argentina is eliminated (which has been happening since 1994 or doesn't play), the same cannot be said about Spain, I think Spain deserves the win, but I'd rather have Italy winning for the atmosphere the match will have at sports bars and italian restaurants here.
As a note aside, if Lagerback doesn't quit after this he has no honor at all, oh wait, he has no honor, what an asshole. Though the swedish players played in descendo, and I dunno why Daniel Andersson Played instead of Kim Kallstrom, I liked to see Elmander as a starter hough, and liked Stoor, more for the middle-deffense like a natural 5, than on the sides, he has pause and did great long passes during the time he played, oh and too bad we could see nothing of Kim Kallstrom, had he played a match for 90 mins he'd have made a goal from outside the box, be ot a free kick or a a cannon shot. blah.
so my predictions are semis will be germany vs turkey (well, not a prediction, mpore like a fact) and Italy (winniong on penalties, Luigi Buffon is there with Edwin Van Der Saar in my goalkeepers list, though on this cup I thought Peter Cech or Andreas Isaaksson would shine, well I was wrong, but if he doesn't make childish mistakes like the ones he did on the stage group and the one that allowed Croatia to score at 118mins today Rustu proved to be a very good goalie, with style and even looks which reminds me of Italy's own Gigi Buffon.
I know the final is gonna be Germany vs. Netherlands (go l'Oranje!) but Turkey vs. Netherlands would be so much cooler.
