Hat-trick for Villa! =D

Spain were massive today. I don't know what the deal is with all these teams playing lone strikers. Torres and Villa were awesome together.
 
hot damn! I'm currently running 3rd out of 15,000 people in the tipping comp I'm in after getting everything correct for the first round of games :)

Lets hope everyone keeps doing what I predict them to do ;)

PS, go Spain, Portugal, Romania and Sweden!!

There was no luck about the decision - It WASN'T offside (check the laws..)

Loving the euro's without all the nationalist tabloid shite we'd get if England were in it. This way I can enjoy the football objectively without turning into a beer swilling, skinhead hooly for a month.

Come on Germany!! (I've got Podolski as golden boot at 28-1 before it started =D =D )

Agreed with you there. It's so nice to be able watch the coverage here without some melodramatic montage of "England's Golden Generation of World-beaters" prefacing every game. Just high quality football, pure & simple. :)

Those are very good odds. The thing with Germany is that they never, ever underachieve. The Netherlands & Spain look like they're firing on all cylinders but it's a foolish man who counts out the Germans.
 
The Holland v Italy game was terrific. Too often we (in Aus) might wake up at some ungodly hour (3.30am/2am/4am) to watch a game that's absolute shit but yesterday's game was terrific, as was this morning's Sweden v Greece game.

Poor Greeks, getting booed by even their own fans for their defensively minded tactics.

I think I'll be cheering on the Dutch and maybe the Germans too at this tournament.
 
My teams in this tourney are Germany and Spain. Germany because I live here, and Spain because my best friend is Spanish, and I like their style. Germany is looking great, and is a definite threat to all comers. I would love to see a Germany vs. Spain/Netherlands final.
 
I've got a sweepstake going on with my mates, all £5 each and my girlfriend picked Portugal out for me :D Guess she's my lucky charm.. will get about £60

just goes to show that anybody could win this... but i didn't see the hustle that germany should have shown after falling behind.

lets see how Italy plays with the world champion's tournament on the line.

I'm really glad about Croatia, been backing them since the start, would rather they win over Portugal any day. I much prefer watching the less renowned teams play..Italy is painful to watch.
 
Well I think that Italy was all over the place during that match, falling at every opportunity as per usual. Holland made that match what it was for me, Italy failed to come together as a team in my opinion. But then again, maybe I'm just biased.
 
what an absolutely ridiculous penalty against Italy, again, and the most brilliant save you will this in the tournament by the Italian keeper

gonna be an interesting game tonight at the wankdorf stadium
