Brexit, should we stay or should we go?

So trashing the economy

Will that lead to more or less austerity ?

BTW

Its Racist not rascist
To poor to afford spell check I take it ? I bet them darkies can afford spell check. The cunts.

PS being a single parent doesn't make your uninformed views more valid. If you can't see what the EU does for us then just wait 2 - 10 years for the trade negotiations to be completed. Watch the price of food get higher and higher.

Did you just turn into SHM? That's not a bad thing ;)

Ignoring the crap about benefits and food vouchers or whatever that was about the cynic in me thinks that the free market/movement is just another method to keep the little man down by the rich.

If you work you are effectively a product, if demand is high and supply is low you can ask for whatever wages want because you are a rare valuable asset.

At the other end of the spectrum it seems to be a way to just continually lower the value of these people by moving them from being a rare product to an incredibly abundant one with little inherent value. This applies to both the domestic worker AND the migrant worker. These people are generally the ones that do not posses the skills or ability to improve their value on their own so are just sitting ducks for rich employers to exploit. 'The man' is fucking both groups with the same double ender.

I can see why these people might feel frustrated about the whole situation and lash out as they feel powerless.

It's probably not a coincidence that people in the lower tiers of the labour market are the most vocal about immigration. It's also probably not a coincidence that the countries that push these kind of arrangements the most are former colonial powers that lost their access to free/cheap labour after World War 2.

Perhaps I'm wrong, as previously I (naively?) viewed free movement agreements as a mutually beneficial situation to plug gaps in the labour market.

Perhaps it's a bit of both depending on how high up the ladder you are?

Thoughts and that?

To see huge brand new housing estates built with not not one native english persons name on their tenancy agreements disgusts me.

Where's that then? Name these estates. And, on the off chance there is one (there isn't) wouldn't you be among the first to complain about how these immigrants don't mix?

but to be salad picking for £2.50 an hour means local people CANNOT afford to take the jobs because they have families here to take care of. A huge percentage of these immigrants are not putting money back in to this economy they send it home

So they're earning £2.50 an hour, managing to survive (I've heard they eat gravel) AND send money home. Then they're better at budgeting than you aren't they.

a lot of the people coming in to the Country are more wised up than we are. .

Hardly seems difficult based on the evidence does it.

Greenland left the EU and no one seemed outraged.

The population of Greenland is 56000 and seven fish. And it still took them 2 years to leave.

The reason being is the UK are one of the highest contributers financially in to the EU and what exactly do we get in return?...

If you want to stay in the free trade Europe guess what? You'll have to pay exactly what you pay now. What Norway pays. But without the other benefits we had.

I feel this vote was more about the poor voting against the rich

Try doing it in a general election next time maybe?

tough shit

Ain't it.

Germany, USA and Canada ALL say they want special trade deals with post-Brexit Britain

Missed this little gem. We have a massive trade deficit with Germany. A sizeable one with Canada. And a small one with USA. You do understand what a trade deficit is, why it is bad, and why these countries might want to keep trading with us (but with even worse terms for the UK) don't you?

I'm still in utter shock and dismay from Friday.

My allegiance and hope is with the Scottish Gov and Nicola Sturgeon that we can as a nation to go forward and make something of this horror show thrown upon us.

On a personal level I work with the European structural funds. I know how important they have been and how much we have gained from them. The new EU programmes are supposed to be running until 2020, but what does this mean now? We've signed up to several partnerships with other EU countries and committed our own investment funds towards this. Wtf?

The benefits from these partnership EU projects are long term and long lasting. Why have so few realised this positive, well maybe apart from bloody Wales and is it Cornwall who are now getting cold feet recognising that and what they've done...

I'm speechless.

Yes. Modern day capitalism in a nutshell. My problem with the theory is that it is now allowing supposedly left wing people (have a look at Urban75) to hide their racism behind a hatred of multiculturalism. Believe it or not, it is now trendy to say multiculturalism is bad, diversity is good. Wanna see where that hair splits? Multiculturalism is supposedly a capitalist conspiracy for ever cheap labour, as you outlined. Diversity is somehow some semantic stronghold we have over this to pretend we're not racist really if we choose to use that word instead.

https://kenanmalik.wordpress.com/2015/02/17/the-failure-of-multiculturalism/

Here is the (what I see as) wank by 'respected left intellectual' Kenan Malik that started this debate on the left. While some of what he argues is obviously correct, it's given some left wing people justification for their, fuck it, racism.

What does everyone make of this petition to have another referendum?

Personally I think it's absolute bullshit, he had a vote, the majority voted out so deal with it!! If it was the other way around we wouldn't be seeing a petition... Already like 77,000 false names on it apparently 8)

I just unapproved the thread i started on this topic in ce&p, because it was befouled by ignorant horseshit.
This is a much more interesting thread.
Why have two? Fuck it.

Really? wow... How undemocratic of you spacejunket, I expected more from you.

It is important to hear what those pissing on the outside say, regardless of what you think. That is important information that helps form the debate.

FFS approve the thread and let them -

Hang themselves...

Some of us have no fear.

Now try reading back a bit in the thread.

By the way, for those accusing Remain of sour grapes and not accepting the result with this call for a second referendum...you do realize this original one was created by a Brexit supporter when he thought they would lose?

3 million signatures later, that's quite funny. =D

Let's have a vote on this then.
All those in favour of a troll tainted ce&p thread, speak up (or forever hold your peas).
If a majority say "aye", i'll ressurrect the festering cadaver of that thread, prop it up with a Union Jack butcher's apron and stuff a pig's head down the front of its trousers...
But for now i go sleep.
<3

And, honestly, before you start...that thread contained one of the best posts I've ever written on BL, certainly one I've got most praise for, and....I don't give a shit. It had descended into farce. If only CEP could be removed so easily.

Apologies for that, shm.
My only regret is losing all the great content some people posted there.
But its filled up with seppos who heard about "brexit" on fox, and trolls.
Tis just a mouseclick to bring it all back though.

If we give the wrong answer, do we get to try again? ;)

You obviously never saw the thread.

No I didn't.

See I'd have liked to have read that post SHM.

However, the powers at be here might think I'm of a delicate persuasion and not able to cope with the scary comments..

As we chat here about democracy, we see in real time BL personality politics and misappropriated power in action eh :\

What a fucking joke.
