EU Referendum Discussion: Well That Worked Out Well Didn't It

Brexit, should we stay or should we go?

It's official. I live in a far right paradise. It's called Hell.

Fuck all you idiots who voted for this.

If Adolf Hilter flew in today, they'd send a limousine anyway.

Believing that the EU is a failing project and being a Nazi are far from the same thing.

Oh fuckity fuck. The goons standing behind Farage in his statement looked like some SA boot boys. Fucking scary stuff. Nothing to hold the right wing back now.

I think you'll find it's the pound that's the failing project, that of the 52% who voted leave, 99% gave their reason as immigration, and that the newspaper headlines today are "Far Right: Now it's our turn".

Good luck with that NHS thing.

I wonder will the English hooligans who chanted so loudly for out be so happy when they find the price of beer has gone up 10% over night.

Price of drugs already has. Knew I should've made that order yesterday. Fukkin' Farridge :!

In related news, annoyingly the cost of flights out of Britain will be unaffordable now. Right when they are most needed :|

Well I never expected that! SHM is right. The majority of those that voted Leave did so for racial reasons.

A stronger UK is possible but only if those that voted leave stand by their vote and don't whinge when they find their benefits cut or find that the holiday to Benidorm just went up by 20%.

I'm was and now am more than prepared to face the fact that I will have no option but to be British.

That means buy British and support British even if it's not the cheapest option.

Alas I very much doubt that the majority of those who voted leave expected to have to stand by their conviction and prepare themselves for a very long road. Likely they will be the same ones whinging when Aldi and Lidl start to raise prices.

Britain you have but taken a very little step.

Lots of smug brexit racist cunts at work today.

They don't seem fazed by what's happening to the pound.

"At least all that money isn't going into David Cameron's pockets anymore"

I tried to wrap my head around that logic, they then told me they used pens to vote.

At that point I just gave up trying to discuss it.

Fuckin bellends

^ As horrific a thought as giving such a boost to the rabid right as this has been I'm not expecting gas chambers. I am expecting a return to the kind of depressing shithole the UK has traditionally been though. But hey, at least it's a British-made shithole 8)

I did wonder about the pen thing. The lil voting booths here all had pencils on string in 'em which I must admit I thought was a bit :sus: - far too easy to mess with. People had left biros in the booths. If this was a nationwide thing I must say I don't blame 'em for not trusting pencilled votes to stay the way they were cast.

Having said that I also used a pen to vote and I'm pretty sure Cameron's income remains much the same as it was yesterday. Although it'll buy a lot less commiseration Champagne for him to drown his sorrows.

My point was not that you will end up with gas chambers. It was that Germans voted for nationalism and got a whole lot more in the bargain. Nationalism leads to bigotry, intolerance and fear. It will devide your country, stir up all sorts of rabid right wing nutbags and probably destroy your economy as well. Not a great move in my opinion.

Re the pens.

It's always pencils ime.
Pencils don't leak or run out. Pencil won't run if the box gets rained on.

The point is quite a few brexit voters, including the twats at work, genuinely thought it was part of a conspiracy.

They wanted democracy 'back' but had clearly never been in a voting booth before.
If the country is that bent that they'd rig a referendum then a vote to remain would be the wise choice anyway.

Fact is there are lots of observers at all stages of the process and MI5 could do better than rubing out pencil. I'm sure they have at least one printer.

Anyway.
It's a moot point now. Just shows the mentality of those people.

Edit :

Just to clarify.
Using a pen because it's there : no big deal.

Bringing your own because Facebook told you to : you're fucking stupid

Fucking Nicola Sturgeon... Now you've got your own referendum to deal with (again). This time, use it properly and don't let teeny boppers vote.

Does anyone else find her strangely a tiny little bit fit? I dunno what it is. The eyes? There's something. Maybe if she grew her hair?

Wow - just wow. I expected this outcome based purely on the racial / immigration element being pushed. Even though I was expecting it I was still shocked when I heard the news this morning.

Here comes the taxes

The majority of people who voted 'Leave' will be dead in 25-30 years. They're saying 75% of those who voted 'Remain' were young (under 35-years-old).

I'm just glad all these EU debates are over. One pro-EU guest sitting next to some old-fashioned Europhobe, repeating the same old bullshit theories. The last few weeks, I would often watch either CNN or Russia Today rather than any British news channel.

Funny watching Merkel and Hollande brick it when they know a load of other EU countries are wanting their own referendums. The Dutch and Swedes are already thinking about copying us. We so cool. %)

What a predictable shame. Seems like a lose-lose-situation in favour of an election campaign. Europe sucks so much ...

So Cameron's referendum promise earned him an extra year.

You just don't let the British public decide on matters this important. It ended up being a toss of a coin. They may as well have done that rather than go through months of campaigning. Or maybe rock, paper, scissors would have been more appropriate.
