"Enbalming Fluid"

Ok, so i've heard the term used many times. Now I always assumed it was slang for pcp. However I was watching this history channel documentary series called gangland. In one of the episodes gang members recall their drug use. One claimed to be have smoked a cigarette dipped in pcp AND embalming fluid and then the announcer goes on to say that ppl smoke embalming fluid and pcp to get high....

Is there ANY truth to this. I though embalming fluid was just pcp or any very similar substance. You can't actually smoke real embalming fluid can you? I thought that shit was toxic.

If there is any truth to it, it's from the misconception that embalming fluid actually is PCP. I don't believe there are any known psychoactive effects from ingesting embalming fluid.

Thats what I thought but history channel and that dude seemed to imply that they were two distinct things. I really doubt you can get high from embalming fluid but maybe I'm in the dark. Anyone else know?

Yeah the history channel says a lot of dumb shit regarding drug use. There's definitely NO reason to ever consume embalming fluid, it's poisonous as fuck.

The gang land guy did it out of pure ignorance, nothing more.

Are u saying he's so stupid he actually consumed embalming fluid or so stupid he thought he did...?

It's perfectly possible that he did smoke embalming fluid, but it was the PCP that got him high. Formaldehyde (aka embalming fluid) is VERY toxic. Smoking it causes tissue damage and can be fatal. It's also perfectly possible that he's just a moron and all he really smoked was PCP, but he heard it called embalming fluid so he thought that it was a mix of both.

I smoked a joint dipped in embalming fluid once and it was wild. I felt like i was falling into the ground. So powerful I had to sit down. It only lasted a few minutes.

Perhaps this was PCP or salvia?

Yeah there are definitely funeral homes that have been broken into, and im sure someone cut there stuff with it before but I think thats really rare. Pcp these days is a pretty ghetto drug, and for some reason people like to think its made with embalming fluid or made from it. I have explained this to more than one person before and a lot of them didnt even know what they were smoking was pcp. This is always liquid pcp btw.

I don't know if this was actually embalming fluid or not, only what I was told. But I felt like I was going to be ill, and the second time I remember my sister and I both crying, convinced we were near death. It was not pleasant. We never tried it again and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It was not "psychedelic" feeling, more like mind numbing and nauseating. Do they even make PCP anymore?

maybe it was salvia, for one anything dipped in pcp has a very strong and distinct smell. There is absolutely no way you could trick someone into smoking a joint without them tasting/smelling it unless they were a straight up idiot. Second pcp lasts a very long time, it can last days. Never a few minutes though.

crying and death? Sounds like pcp to me..... very very commong themes to pcp.

PCP should last for a couple hours at least, it has a long acute life. Salvia on the otherhand can be a 5-20 minute trip. Not that this is any evidence that it was salvia, but 99% sure its not PCP if it only lasted for a couple minutes.

Sorry I wasn't clear on that- it was joints purportedly dipped in that stuff but I can't be sure. It was not a PCP high, more like a near death experience. Both my sister and I felt like if we went to sleep we were not going to wake up. It took a very long time to come down too.

Another thing I remember is it did have a strong taste and we had done PCP many times before this. I don't know what the hell it really was, but it was not pleasant. The joint was sort of greasy, so it had been dipped with something

Embalming fluid is formaldehyde. I worked around cadavers in an anatomy class. The formaldehyde fumes are so strong that the air needs to be suctioned out through a fan non stop.

Seriously doubt you would smoke it, not to mention it is liquid.

i could imagine smoking actual formaldehyde possibly being part of some fucked up gang initiation. Or maybe some other gang member were trying to off that guy and gave him a pcp & formaldehyde combo. Who knows... people do fucked up things

I've always wondered about this too. I did some research and found stories of people stealing formaldehyde from mortuaries for use in an embalming fluid/pcp mixture, so it may actually be done in some places.

Anyone dumb enough to smoke formaldehyde is headed for the funeral parlor themselves.

That was PCP. Embalming fluid is not a drug, however embalming fluid can be a nickname for PCP, which is a dissociative like DXM, Ketamine, Salvia, etc.

Dissociatives, particularly strong ones like PCP and Ketamine can mimic near death experiences, that sounds *exactly* like a PCP high, you probably just got low doses before and this was a particularly high dose.
