Einstien on Religion

highlife, i really don't understand what you're trying to deny!
he doesnt know that
he was a genius because as he said himself :
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
it's easy for you to say that "these theories have not been proven" but you have to be blind not to realize the genius of the first persons who brought these theories out of nowhere

lol^^^i have an idea but how could it ever compare to any one else's so called "COSMIC"

damn, i dont think my opinion has ever been questioned this much in one forum.i sure did waste alot of time:p

well the truth is i was kinda tweeked so that explains my rambling and i wasnt expecting to be taken seriously, especially when attempting to question the so called geniuse's thoughts.

w\e i dont even care, il tell you what i think about this topic.i think its something worth writing in a book then selling it to make big bucks.i wouldnt buy it :p

hahaha "know it all syndrome", damn rights

why did someone tell me im not familiar with phisics???i dont give two shits about physics, what does the knowledge of physics get me????just some brain power wasted on useless knowledge, im probably wrong but my opinion isnt.

can someone ever be so smart they are stupid???

everyone is ignorant about a plethora of things. For instance, you could probably whip Einstein in numerous playstation games. ;)

heh being tweaked explains alot.

I said you don't seem to be familiar with physics because of the way you discussed it as well as choice of words used.

yeah Einstein was a looney, he couldn't remember simple things like his address. Understandable though when your mind is always somewhere else.

i dont believe theres such thing as genius or insanity.theres no such thing as sanity either since i dont think a single person is completely in control of their thoughts.there are those who can concentrate and bring their thoughts together very well and those who are in a state of constant conscience chaos both still have some sort of control and chaos or randomness if you will.all human brains have a sort of categorizing effect on everything that comes through the senses.some brains will be deffective and wont be able to completely categorize and control their conscience of the world around them.thats what persepctive is, your conscience categorizing the sense's signals.an inteligent man is very good at fitting his thoughts together, while a stupid or handycapped person wont be able to fit the signals from the senses into any solid category of thought therfor not being able to fit any thoughts together in a logical manner.

thought perception is mostly environment and experience influenced which would be an explanaition for logic, knowledge that the majority agrees with.

i bet einstein was stuck in a constant state of thought perception that might have been unique in the way that he didnt follow any sort of basic society constructed logic.this could be the reason he had so many theories and opinions since he didnt have any sort of society based morals or any social mental bariers on his logic.he had a bad memory someone said, i bet he was constantly thinking about the most far out things and was very good at fitting them together in his own logical and controlled way, he probably had to write his thoughts down since he wouldnt remember them with the next perception on something he came across was already flowing into his head.i wonder what his mental thought structure was influenced by if at all?

this is kinda off topic but im baked, i dont give a shit and my brain decided to fit some good connections on this matter together, in my mind anyways and i dont really give a crap about yor mind.if you noticed, this way of thinking is what gets the world as far as it has come from where it was in the begining and society and social structure forming a sort of popular perception or mass conscience forming, this is why it takes so long for any advancement to occur, except maybe in the last century since alot of people have been born and alot of freedom has been going around......or maybe thats just a self centered way of seeing things:p

who knows.:\

Genius and Insanity are both vaguely defined words, It's easy to see how the two can be seen interchangibly.

Just a little addendum: the US is currently doing an experiment trying to completely prove the theory of relativity. Most aspects of it have been proven, but this one little part hasn't been proven yet. This experiment has been in the works for fifty years, but due to lots of stupid complications it wasn't carried out til now. If it goes as planned, it will conclusively demonstrate that the theory of relativity is correct.

The gist of the experiment is this: they launched a satellite up that has inside of it five perfectly spherical quartz balls (well, DAMN close to perfect, they are the closest to perfectly spherical objects that have EVER been created on earth) Now that the satellite is in space, a mechanism has made the balls start spinning on an axis, much like the earth does. Delicate equipment inside the machine is measuring the distortment occuring in the spinning and position of the spheres, with the intent of showing the effects of a space-time warp. For more details just look up "einstein," "crystal," "satellite," and "relativity." There are quite a few articles about this experiment out there.

The accuracy and precision of the satellite is amazing. It may even find a new level of physics, who knows.

I did a lot of thinking about Einstein's idea of 'cosmic' religious theory and thought it might be useful (while re-reading Huxley's Doors of Perception) to link it to Huxley's idea of the Mind at Large - where every human mind is capable of perceiving everything and anything yet our consciousness limits our ability to do so, so that we are not flooded by irrelevant background information - thus our mind is limitative rather than productive.

If we relate that thought to cosmic religious theory, you could say that certain visionaries (musicians, artists, poets) whom Huxley attributes with the ability to see past the curtains or doors of perception and open up parts of the Mind at Large (naturally his explanation is a lot more complicated) experience a state of mind that one can only reach by taking certain drugs, meditating etc. - this state of mind, being able to revel in the powers of the mind and nature, seems very akin to Einstein's idea of cosmic religious feeling, that only certain people are ever able to achieve. Just thought I'd throw that in the mix

I would just like to express how amazed I am. i've been trying to define my stance on religion since my early teenage years and could never quite find a way to pinpoint it, I guess I thought that I was the only one who thought this way and now I've found that I share the same feelings with Einstein! This has really brightened my evening, and I'm sure this will help in my search for answers. Thanx for posting Psychonaut Shaman

i agree with the original poster's post (or einstein's views, if that's really what they are ;))

and...einstein was a genius...the theory of relativity is a hella smart theory, i will say that much...i studied it last semester

it just says "everything is relative" in physics/math terms

and there has been some proof done
the bending of light from distant suns in the gravitational field of the earth was verified
as einstein predicted

the difference in wristwatch time of a guy on earth and a guy launched into orbit was also shown as predicted, i think

man...i'm stoned, too :) cheers

"Hitler's scientists were almost all Jews"

This is why I rarely frequent this board... It's a constant stream of uninformed, oppinionated bullshit.

The above quote is, in fact, the antithesis of reality. The number one cause cited in the Manhattan Project's success in developing the A-Bomb before the Germans was the diaspora of Jewish scietific talent prior to 1940. But don't believe me... check it out for yourselves...

From : http://www.486th.org/Assn/NL/NL0102.htm

In the 1930's Europe was undergoing a dramatic and frightening change. Intellectuals found themselves looked upon with suspicion. Jews were discriminated against by all nations of Europe, especially in Germany. German academies began dismissing Jewish faculty. The writing was on the wall, and those who could began to emigrate to escape the persecution, and to find new lives. This exodus of the intelligentsia diminished the German brain trust that was once the pride of Europe. America, and, to a lesser extent, Britain would be the beneficiaries of this exodus.

Sounds like an opinion to me. Although your history is correct.

It is an opinion... it's not uninformed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion... I feel I'm entitled to question those opinions based on fiction.
