eating Nurofen

I havn't noticed any difference when mixing codeine with caffeinated drinks or non caffeinated drinks.

The hanky method is really simple and effective, ive been at it for so long that I can complete the whole process in under 10 minutes, Its not very difficult at all %)
 
I use basic method as above, except for filtering. I have this coffee filter designed for making a single cup of filtered coffee that has a metallic filter built into the bottom - works a treat, and makes awesome coffee as well ... hehe =D
 
i was thinking maybe a simlpe small funnel made out of a piece of paper would do? . . . maybe like a piece of paper out of a notebook? . . .

I tried that once and it didn't work, the paper will go soggy and break apart.

Using a wet folded over hanky, or another thin piece of material that has been woven closley together (plus folded over) will do the trick perfectly.

Simply split them like usual, fill up a glass with around 50ml of water per 12-24 tabs (it doesnt matter if the waters cold or warm, tap water is fine).

Let them all disolve and stir, then wet a hankercheif, fold it twice into a little square (now it has four layers since its folder over itself twice), lay the hanky over a fresh glass/drinking cup (the hanky will be the filter) and pour the solution into it, let it drain a little, then pick up the sides of the hanky and squeeze/ring out all of the solution into the colletion glass.

Then open the hanky back up over the glass, crush up the (now dry) blob of pill mass with your fingers while adding more water again over the blob, then repeate the draining/squeezing process.

Get a big cup, add some coke or pepsi or lemonaid, add the codeine water, then fill the cup up as much as you can with the rest of your coke/lemonaid, then drink :D

I love it so much, nothing beats having a huge cup of codeine/pepsi mix to drink at night while at home playing RPG computer games [/B]

Are you sure this method of filtering is safe? how often do you dose?

I usually take 10 - 12 halves once a week

If you split the N+'s first, then the CWE will leave any small amount of ibuprophen and all the binder as insolubles - the filtering is to just remove these. If there are still visible insolubles in the liquid then you can filter again until you get a clearish solution. I find the binders give me retching gut aches, so the filtering of the N+ side is a must for me.
 
I might try it out tonight with some fine weave cotton rag doubled over.

I'm sure its not as safe as the cold coffee filtered method but its probably ok in small doses

I'll let you know if I get any nausea or pains

No, because it takes less time to split the N+'s and then CWE & filter just the N+ side than it would to CWE and filter the whole tablet. Far less mess too. If you CWE the whole tablets then there's twice the binder sludge and the ibuprohen solids as well.

aphexia: just go to the local supermarket and buy some paper coffee filters or go to k-mart or target and see if you can get a small funnel about the same size as the paper coffee filter as well, or if you've got a filtered coffee machine at home, use that =D
 
the theory still works for unsplittable, and in fact was first designed for tablets containing paracetomol . . . so, like eccitude said, you can still use the technique - there is just more mess . . .

and eccitude - some stuff in your post might be seen as a breach of "no sources" etc . . . maybe not, but you never know . . .
 
I know the CWE was designed for unsplittables but I'm just a little worried how much Ibu would make it through the fabric weave, its not as fine as a coffee filter or filter paper.

I'd imagine the vast majority of the Ibu would be blocked but I wonder how much makes its way through
 
i would expect the amount of Ibuprofen that passes through is negligible, but dont trust me - if you dont feel comfortable, dont do it . . .
 
how often is not safe to dose.. im really starting to like this.. had about 16 halfs monday nite, 8 halfs last nite and 16 again tonight.. iv only really just started but it feels..soooo sooo good!!!
 
The hanky/material filtering methods work just as well as a using your basic coffee filter, just try it (if the filtering starts getting slower and the hanky is all gunked up, it's time to firmly grasp each open end just above the puddle and twist/ring the solution downdards and out into the collection glass, this is the best thing about using hanky's, you can get every drop of moisture out of your extraction by adding pressure by twisting without breaking the filter).

Folded (and wet) hanky's work the best hands down, tshirts dont really work well at all for some reason....nothing gets through, neither do thicker materials like tea-towels etc.

I even use the hanky method for unsplittable paracetamol/codeine pills and the solution comes out very clear.

Hooray for hanky's i say, happy hankying %)


EDIT: I dont trust any CWE on ipboprofen products at all to begin with, thats why I was panicing earlier today whith the introduction on the new nurofen + batch to my local pharmacy, I split...then CWE.

I'm sorry, but I can't stop thinking about Mr Hanky when I read your filtration method 8o well i spose you are trying to filter out all the shit hehe
 
I tried Squids ;) "ghetto tech" last night, it worked perfectly

Here's what I did for anyone trying:

1) I chopped all of the pills up (12 of, both halves) then dumped them into a glass

2) I covered the pills with about 60mls of cold, distilled water

3) I let them stand in this water for 30 mins, stiring occasionally while the pills broke down and the codeine disolved

4) I wet a cotton rag, doubled it over and put it over the glass (making sure it had a deep enough concave to accept the mixture)

5) I then poured the mixture into the filter and allowed to drain, once drained I squeezed the filter to get every last bit of the codeine

6) I opened the rag, broke up the powdery mess and poured more water over it to wash every last bit of codeine into the glass (I repeated this a couple of times)

7) I then mixed the codeine "milk" with some orange juice and ice

Supprisingly the stuff doesnt taste too bad, even before mixing with juice
